Full Giants tryout list

Defenderdawg : 10/30/2013 7:37 am
The New York Giants tried out 20 players, including former New York Jets running back Miguel Maysonet, according to a league source.

They also tried out running backs Cam White, Keiland Williams, Kendall Gaskins, wide receivers Preston Parker, Danny Coale and Reggie Dunn, defensive end Kendrick Adams, quarterbacks Jerrod Johnson and B.J. Coleman, tight ends Colin Anderson and Bryce Davis, center Kevin Kowalski, kickers Brandon McManus and Patrick Murray, offensive guard Eric Olsen, offensive tackle Willie Smith, defensive back Trevin Wade, linebacker Lawrence Wilson and punter Brad Wing.

None were immediately signed to a contract, though.

The Giants are annually the leader in the NFL for tryouts to update their files and emergency lists.

To follow up a post I made last week about S Corey Lynch being invited for a tryout on monday as well as the Titans being being interested in him. He signed with the Titans on monday.

Provided he's not still gimpy, not sure why we wouldn't have Locklear back, he worked out pretty well for the short period of time before he was injured.
Thanks

I can't understand with our questions at TE and the way he produced in 2011, that wouldn't be an option for upgrading the roster.
Optimus would be better for this
Ten Ton Hammer : 10/30/2013 9:22 am : link
but I'm pretty sure we can't afford anyone at this point.
TTH - Last I saw the Giants are dead last in cap room.
Optimus-NY : 10/30/2013 9:36 am : link
The NFLPA website actually has them listed as being over the cap at -$60,640. This is not true. They make data entry errors at times and don't have the REAL cap figures. Only the NFL Management Council has the actual updated and precise figures.

Besides, it's the bye week, so it's normal for them to take stock of the roster and check out what's out there more than they usually do each Tuesday.

As far as Aaron Wilson is concerned, he's a GREAT follow on Twitter (@RavensInsider). He's one of the absolute best guys out there regarding getting info from all over the league.

was supposed to be the RB version of Victor Cruz according to some people on BBi
He DOESN'T cover the team better than beat writers
mort christenson : 10/30/2013 2:44 pm : link
I've explained this before but what he does is he gets access to the league release to the teams of all player workouts. A few years back, it was completely private. Today, some things are released to the press. I'm not sure whether he's being fed this by a source or more likely is just reading off a release and copying and pasting names. But what he ISN'T doing is scouring the league for sources on every team to give him these names. At best, he's being fed the entire list by one person.
Sad no
