Redskins to beat the Eagles this weekend. It could be the linchpin to our comeback (assuming of course we take care of our own business) At that point, we would be a one game out with the Cowboys coming in and basically would control our own destiny. We have the Redskins twice, so we can take care of them if we are really serious about making the playoffs. The Redskins also have the Niners, which is a loss. The Cowboys have the Packers probably with Rodgers, which would be a loss. If the Eagles win, though, they would have a game up on us with 5 to play. They have home to Arizona, Chicago, and Detroit (they probably take 2 of those 3). They are on the road to Minnesota (a W), and the Cowboys the last game of the year (normally I would say a loss, but the Cowboys could be done at that point and would have nothing to play for).
We're really the only team in the division with a defense that isn't a sieve right now.
I know technically you are right.........but
As far as the Redskins and the Eagles are concerned, I think the Eagles win, but the teams in this division are so bad, it's hard to predict a winner in any contest.
He's proven to be the only truly productive QB in that system.
The defense is nothing to write home about.
Honestly, I am more worried about the Redskins than anyone else in that division.
Dallas is 23rd in points and 32nd in yards.
At least we're 11th in yards.
Dallas, Philadelphia and Washington comprise 3 of the 5 teams in the NFL who have given up the most yardage.
Heck, we will have a tough time beating the Lions and we've lost to the Bears.
Who knows when this might end? Maybe soon? Maybe the season will make 2007 and 2011, take a back seat....
Whatever, it's fun to look forward to the next game....
I am as big a positive thinker as there is on this board, having said this, I just don't see the Giants winning more than 7 or 8 games. I can make a case for 10-6 but I can see 4-12 as well.
I also honestly(looking ahead as we fans are allowed to do I don't have to take it one game at a time)am not all to worried about San Diego. I think they're a team the Giants can take even on the road.
If the Giants get hot on offense(I mean playing well not just making some plays and slipping by)they can make a heck of a run. I'm just not sure they're going to get hot.
Giants obviously have to take care of their own business.
However, it would be great if Dallas somehow went on a losing streak to fall out of the race, but then played "spoiler" and knocked off the Eagles for us in that Week 17 game.
We're really the only team in the division with a defense that isn't a sieve right now.
Stats are misleading. Take a look at the Eagles defense the last 5 games. It hard to evaluate the yards they allowed to the Raiders when the score was 49-13.
The first 5 games (the defense wasn't that bad against the Giants in the 1st meeting) were below average. Since then, it was improved.
