It wasn't so much guaranteeing victory. He was asked if the were going to win. He was just saying that yes they have to win. He said, "this is my season." He was basically coming from an injured players mentality where he knows this could be his last chance. That's the way I took it. It was a great interview. He was given a bunch of great stats that the defense has accomplished over the past four games which included no TD passes. He said the best stat was the run defense because it takes the entire team. He talked about Beason. He said that everybody has an assignment and a lot of times Beason's job might be to contain and says to hell with that I can make that play. He was pumped talking about it. Normally I am not ok with players avoiding their responsibilities but how can you fault Beason this year? There was a lot of great stuff in there.
Not to compare the 2 but I believe LT often operated with that attitude knowing he could make that play. If Beason becomes sure he can do it, why not? He's no rookie.
It freaking scares me as a fan. It really does. IDK why. Theres no way in fucking hell the giants would actually lay an egg this sunday. But, the confidence as a fan has me feeling nervous. Typically the giants play their best when they play above people's expectations of them. This new breed of swag and confidence we're seeing is certainly something we haven't seen since the 2011 playoff run. And its not like they're playing at that level either.
I mean honestly what does it matter? We started 0-6 we have nothing to lose. If we do lose so be it, the season wasn't meant to be. Right now we are all hoping for an even bigger miracle run then 07. If that happens it will be awesome. If not we won't really be shocked. Good for them, have some fun with this game.
And Thomas has said this himself.. is that a team usually has a good feel after their end of week practice about how they're going to perform. There's a certain level of preparedness and confidence and I think if you have it, it bodes well.. and judging from what we've heard this week, I think it's there. These guys must feel like they've seen things on tape and just are ready to combat the Cowboys offense and hey, at this point there's nothing to lose.. what the heck.
Truth is, this is the Giants season here.. so I'm glad they're fired up like this.
Remember those crucial games against ATL and BAL down the stretch last year? I don't remember hearing anything that was even remotely inspiring or anything that gave me confidence coming out of the Giants locker room before those games. They just didn't seem to have any fire or any swagger at all. I like what's going on with this team right now.. but they have to back it up.
last time the Giants were this confident before a big game
was the Packers divisional playoff game in 2011. The Giants basically said "we're tougher and just better" during the week before that game, and they went out and proved it.
I actually like it when this team has their swagger and talks big. Much better than hearing Tuck whine and say deep introspective things that show self-doubt. This is a confident team and that's a good thing.
While he directly has nothing to do with this quote or thread, the whole damn team changed on and off the field as soon as he got here. Swagger, confidence, whatever. HE oozes it and it has rubbed off on everyone else.
I have never been more confident in a total beatdown in my life
I have watched this team for 30 years and never felt the way I do right now. I really just have a gut feeling they are going to destroy the Cows and put the league on notice.
Goes back to the early season T2 quotes about the early season being no big deal. I hated it at the time but it may very well be the way these guys think. They are in playoff mode now and when you get champions back to believing and confident and desperate things fall in place. Especially with this group and this coach.
Michael Boley guaranteed a victory at Green Bay and if im not mistaken Chris Canty did the same for the San Fran Game. Guess what jus like in those two game if we dont win Sunday our season is over so a guarantee doesnt really bother being that we HAVE to win or were done.
Like the Cowboys are going to get more fired up than they normally would to play the hated rival Giants in what amounts to a playoff game for both teams regardless of what the Giants say. Get real. Meanwhile, the Giants almost beat the Cowboys in the 1st game despite FIVE - I'll repeat FIVE about 400 more times - more turnovers than the Cowboys. If the Giants had won I'm sure that would have been a record by at least 1 turnover. I think they have a right to be confident & say whatever they damn well want about feeling that way. I'd normally say STFU but not this time.
continue to make dumb statements? It's disappointing. Come on TT, let your dominant play do the talking. A win on Sunday will be the most widely heard statement you can make.
Maybe this team can benefit from attitude and start playing their best ball.
Too soon?

After an 0-6 start I'm glad to see that they are still confident in themselves.
No need to control emotions.
"Talk" or "Bulletin Board Material" has never won a football game. Ever.
The Cowboys are not going to play harder because of what the Giants are saying.
At least this team is trying and if they go down they'll go down fighting.
This is more than I can say for a few other Giants teams I've seen in the past.
I am glad they are hyped up and confident but I wonder why they still do it.

LET'S GO!!!!!!!!!!!
Haha Amazing.
But Graziano picked the Cowboys, so many there's a bit of hope.
