Upset vs Seattle next week?

Route 9 in LEH : 12/9/2013 12:48 am
Yeah, we're done. I get it. but I can see an upset next week with the Giants winning a close one. Seahawks coming to the east coast and their only two losses are on the road.

Rivers looked like he didn't have to do anything out of the ordinary from what I saw. I didn't see much of the Seattle game. How did Wilson do? Does our defense have a shot at stopping this guy or will he go wild? Tuck getting 3 sacks?
I know there are some that want us to start losing games to get a better draft spot but it would be nice to see a W against an 11-2 team. And for a Christmass gift I'd like Eli Manning to throw over 280 yards, 3 TDs and 0 INTs? Or will I receive COAL in my stocking??

Netflix starting at halftime yesterday and never turned the game back on. Probably wont watch this one. I don't put myself through stress and agony if there's no hope.
Oh yeah

Without a doubt. Upset stomach for sure.
It better be a decent game,

I got Netflix this month and I'm very disappointed with the selection, or therefore lack of. I'm on my third go around with How I Met Your Mother. Any good suggestions?

You all are very funny. You'll see come the 15th. Upset special and yes, it comes served with lobsters.
This offense,

is just going through the motions.....

The sounds that will echo though Giant stadium next week, will be unreal.....to think, a SB just two seasons ago.....
I hope not

we need to lose out and get a premier pick. I'm thinking long term, no reason to root for 8-8, it gets us nothing.

And if we do win, it would be chalked up to luck, no question.
I believe the drink of the day will be shots of Pepto Bismol.

Upset... Good one.
Seattle is...
Johnny5 : 12/9/2013 8:24 am : link
... going to roll right over this team. I'll be shocked if they don't drop 35+ points. And I'm looking for this offense to pretty much have it's worst statistical game of the year against that defense. Which would be record breaking in itself.
What a terrible, TERRIBLE season.
NYG are 7 point underdogs
Buck Dharma : 12/9/2013 8:25 am : link
The closest thing to an upset will be them keeping it close, and even that is a long shot.
No chance.
arcarsenal : 12/9/2013 8:39 am : link
The Giants are going to get waxed. They'll lose by 3 scores.
I go into every week hopeful
JoefromPa : 12/9/2013 8:44 am : link
but reality never takes long to reveal itself once the games start.

The Giants offensive line will get dominated by Seattle's defensive front. And the Giants defense will do what it always does..........leave receivers wide open.

Seattle has a real shot at playing at MetLife
GmanND : 12/9/2013 8:53 am : link
again in Feb. I think they'll be taking this game as a very serious practice run. I just hope Eli doesn't get hurt.
I'm fairly certain they'll get shut out next week
Greg from LI : 12/9/2013 8:57 am : link
The offense has struggled mightily against three of the worst defenses in football these past three games. Facing the best, they're going to be hard pressed to make first downs, let alone score.
Uh, no
JonC : 12/9/2013 8:58 am : link
the Giants are toast, and the Seahawks are playing for a #1 seed and very likely a spot in the SB.
Absolutely

Put your Pom Poms down. This team stinks and will not win another game the rest of the season including the redskin game.
Eli May not survive this week.

I'm with you on this Greg Sunday could be a game like 2007 against the Vikings when manning threw 3 pick sixes
I think

there's a decent chance that our offense concedes more points than they score.
nothing surprises me anymore
djm : 12/9/2013 10:27 am : link
but I envision this game as one where NY comes out fired up, plays hard and maybe even takes an early lead. Problem is Seattle is just too strong and talented and the Giants are too mistake prone and vulnerable. The Hawks will wear NY the fuck out and the inevitable cascade of NYG turnovers will lead to a n ugly 31-10 type game.

Fired up first quarter...game slowly starts to get away but maybe the halftime score isn't that bad. Costly turnover in the 2nd half...then another turnover where Eli just says fuck it...then maybe even another...

Seattle will be cranky.
I`m hoping for a Philly class,

We have all witnessed the G-Men losing games they should have won and winning games they had no business winning.

I think Eli comes to play next week and the Gmen win.

There, I said it. Gmen 28-24

It will certainly be a head scratcher.

They didn't beat the shit out of Kaepernick. 2 sacks for the day and not much pressure otherwise. Good coverage, some bad throws and 1 or 2 drops is what limited the SF passing offense not the pass rush.

Will be over at half time, hell it might be over at the end of the first quarter. This team is soft and gets push around. Seattle coming off a tough loss, were gonna get spanked
In order to cmpete w/ Seattle,
Snee07 : 12/9/2013 11:01 am : link
we need to get the ball snapped befre it hits zero.
Seattle this year at 10 AM on the road is less than spectacular
NINEster : 12/9/2013 11:03 am : link
@Carolina , W 12-7
@Houston, W 23-20
@Indy, L 34-28

The Panthers game they benefited from a fumble that could have cost them the game. Looking back now, Carolina is a lot tougher than was expected in week 1 but they didn't start to win games until a few weeks later.

Houston had a 20-3 lead at halftime and Schaub literally threw away the season. JJ Watt was destroying their OL and his anger after the game was something to be seen.

Colts game was a good battle. This was the "good" Colts that played them at full strength. It was a toss up game.

I think Cruz can be a factor in this game. Seattle's secondary has struggled with small shifty receivers like TY Hilton, Wes Welker. You can't put FS sized CBs out there and expect them to cover Darren Sproles if you know what I mean.

This could be one of those games where the Giants play to their potential and make it very interesting. I would hope the combination of playoff elimination, showing up a premier team, and revenge for 2011 regular season game come to bear in this game.

I see this one being interesting if the Giants catch some breaks early.

Don't think seahawks offense
deadkurtrulz : 12/9/2013 11:12 am : link
is anything special and it is possible Giants could hang around and stay in this game. Highly doubtful though. Giant turn over machine offense will probably lose this game big.

It's not just the turn overs. It's the negative plays and terrible special teams that will probably make it easy for Seattle.

2013 Giants - Lots of bad plays, almost no big plays! Catch the Fever!

Thinks the giants are winning this game is out of their minds. Number 1. Seattle has nothing wrapped up yet, division.home field. Nothing. So they are going to be extremely motivated for this game I don't care if its a 1 o'clock game in the east coast that means squat. Number 2. This giants team fucking stinks. They have not beaten not 1 good Quarterback this season. The defense has been embarrassed in almost every single loss. People are stil, living off wins against Josh Freeman and Matt Barkley and Scott Toilzan and forget the giants struggled to beat all these teams with bad Quarterbacks. Minnesota.Philly.Oakland. Greenbay. Heck even Washington with Rg3 whose not having a good year. The giants kept all these teams in the game. This 2013 giant team is probably the worst I have seen since the 96 giants season wise.. Piss poor season.

we are more than capable of stopping Lynch, and I don't love any of the Seattle WR's.

I also think we can and will run on them.

I expect to lose, but not by 3 scores.

i'm going to this game too. I hate to even bring it up but I have Wilson and Lynch going for me in a FF playoff game. And I do love Wilson even if he's on my keeper team for the next....SIX seasons...lol. I love his style of play.

I won't cheer for those guys and I will keep my poker face on if and when Lynch and Wilson deliver but I won't lie...i'm kind of excited to see them. Giants are done anyway. I hope NY wins....but...well...you know.

as for the crowd mood
djm : 12/9/2013 2:15 pm : link
we have not been in this position that often where the Giants are playing out the string let alone playing out the string and faced with a losing record.

If this game gets out of hand I can't help but envision the fans getting cranky. I went to the ugly 2009 season finale against the Panthers..I honestly don't remember the fans being loud and negative but I was hammered.

The last time I went to a game like this was in 2003. Giants Falcons in November. That was the game the Giants lost to a Doug Johnson led Falcons team. Giants were somewhere around 4-6 or 4-7 and everyone knew that team was dead. The fans absolutely crushed Fassel that day. Beginning of the end.

Exactly. You summed up my feelings on this game, as well. Under no circumstances will I be rooting for Seattle. But I am very much looking forward to seeing them play live and in person on Sunday. Wilson is far and away my favorite player in the league to watch. I've had this game circled on my calendar ever since I became a ticket holder in the offseason. It's a shame the game means nothing for the Giants. But I'm still looking forward to seeing Wilson, and to a lesser extent, the team as a whole.
fuck Russell Wilson

Will of course root for Giants and hope for the best but
Jimmy Googs : 12/9/2013 2:39 pm : link
this would be a shocking win if Giants could pull it off. The couple of times I have watched Seattle play, I would always say/think that they would kill the Giants because of their style of play is so different than ours.

Seattle always seems to come out hot in the first half. They show so much team speed. And their secondary challenges almost every throw and looks to intercept any pass not carefully thrown by the QB.

Lynch is very good runner, and Wilson just makes plays and turns his ordinary offensive players into threats each drive.

I hope for a Giant win 23-20, but expect a blowout loss around 38-10.

4-4 going into that Falcons game at home vs a pathetic 1-7 Atlanta team. Everyone on the Giants offense had a shit show that day. Collins was awful and despite Tiki running for over 100 yards he coughed up the ball twice and lost them both. This was before all the injuries happened around the offense (Collins, Hilliard, Shockey) we still had big hope the team was going to turn the season around that game. I even think Shockey hurt his knee and his season ended in the Atlanta game. It was just a bad team back then, terrible o-line.
