YOUR FAVORITE GIANTS GAME OF ALL TIME

kotar1 : 12/14/2013 9:01 am
My favorite is SUPER BOWL XXI played on 1/25/87. Giants 39 Broncos 20. My buddies and I partied till the wee hours that day. I taped it [yes VCR tape] and we got together the next 2 Sundays to watch it over and over. The G-MEN were trailing at halftime and came roaring back. That was our first championship in many years and will always be special to me. I still have the tape and still watch it now and then.
For me it was SB42 without question

I cried with my wife when we won that game. We all know the circumstances of that win.

Previously, I enjoyed the 2000 NFC Championship Game as much as any of the previous two SB wins.

Super Bowl XXI was great, but my favorite game was the first Giants playoff game in what seemed like a lifetime. They beat the Eagles in the playoffs that day.

It was a great game and what led up to it adds to the emotion.

It was just the craziest run. Beating Dallas, the OT in Green Bay and then "The Escape and Helmet Catch." Plus, it was the only SB I got to watch with my dad. I still get a little emotional thinking about that game.
Not including playoffs..

Giants were 5-0 at the time, but down 19-10 as the 4th quarter started, Simms was knocked out of the game.

Giants came back, won 20-19. I said as the 4th quarter started " if the Giants can come back from this and win, they'll win the super bowl." Hostetler came in,they won, and they did.

I think it was the Raven game in 2008 when Giants COMPLETELY DOMINATED Ray Lewis and a tubby coach named Rex Ryan. Lewis was on his back all day while Jacobs and Bradshaw was running wild all over them. I believe it was 200 plus yds rushing. At the time the talk was the Ravens defense was the 85 Bears or something. Looked more like the 76 Bucs.

Honorable mention : The Christmas Eve 2011 game against a certain fat-bellied, bigmouth coach that can just shut up now.

Overall: SB42

For as crappy as this season and last season have been, I consider myself very lucky to be rooting for this franchise. It could be MUCH worse

Dan Hampton singing 'New York New York', leading up to the game - they shut him right the f--k up. I loved that the Giants came out and played a 4-3 front to stop the running game.

was the last regular season game back in 1981 where we beat Dallas in overtime to go to playoffs for the first time in like...forever.

However, the "Paper Blizzard" NFC Championship Game in 86' was my favorite Giants game of all-time. The atmosphere prior, during, and especially afterwards was no other game at least I never experienced. Just the seeing and being part of the emotion afterwards was something. It was a long time wait (after going through the tough years of 70's) and relief of finally getting to the big one..Super Bowl.

I witnessed the tears of joy of long time Giants fans and on down to their sons and etc after the game had ended. That Stadium that day was like one big family with mini celebratory parties going on all levels (lower, mezz - where I sat, and upper tier)afterwards where you as a giants fan walked up and celebrated with a complementary toast of champagne. It was a scene like no other scene I had ever experienced in my lifetime. A great memory that will forever be with me.

I was about 12-13 when that game happened and it was the defining moment of me locking in to be a Giants fan for the rest of my life.

The second would be the 2007 Superbowl, I live in New England and it will never get better than that..Beating the undefeated Patriots in the Super Bowl.

The 3rd would probably be the 2007 Championship against the Packers.

Fav. regular season game was against the Colts when Collins was the QB and Barrow was outsmarting Manning the whole game.

in the NFC championship in the wind, 17-0. I've been a fan since 1961 and the Giant's had never won a championship in all those years. Once they beat the you-know-who's I knew they would crush Denver. The Super Bowl was anti-climatic for me.

Carl Banks was AWESOME in that game.

Lots of great and memorable games, with the FOUR Super Bowl wins competing for top honors. But beyond those obvious games, two others stand out.

Giants 13 Cowboys 10, last game of regular season, 1981. Giants to go the playoffs for the first time in my life. What a great feeling that was after so much misery.

Giants 37 Packers 20, NFC Divisional Playoff game, 2012. Packers were coming off a 15-1 season, but we went to Green Bay and whipped 'em. I laughed for ten minutes after the Nicks Hail Mary catch at halftime: knew we'd won the game then.
42 is probably my favorite, that's obvious
Sonic Youth : 12/14/2013 6:32 pm : link
And the NFC championship game was great, but I loved the 07 divisional game against Dallas. Might not be my FAVORITE, but holy shit, I was convinced we were going to lose that game. My two best friends are Cowboys fans, and I purposely watched it away from them because I thought we had no shot. What an awesome game.

Super Bowl run. Watched it like 3am in an NBC TV van like you see at the game in the middle of nowhere in Israel. As a long-suffering Giants fan, the lightbulb finally came on that our string of mediocre or worse teams was Finally over.

The 1990 Cardinal game was one of the games I reviewed for BBI a while back. Funny enough, one of Ricky Proehl's friends found it recently and asked me for the tape of the game, because it was his first time playing against the Giants for the Cardinals and the Proehls are all huge Giants fans and season tix holders.

Enjoy!

appreciate that.

We call it the" Purple game" in my house, because i was jumping up and down in the 4th quarter turning purple. I said then that if they can pull it out they'll win the super bowl this year, and they did.

Giants 13 Cowboys 10, last game of regular season, 1981. Was 23 at the time and at the game. Like George said above, to get into the playoffs after the S**tstorm of the 70's, it was a joyous day.
