Is the most annoying host on radio. Its sad that he is the giants fan representative on wfan. Go back to smoking crack Sidney
Sid is a diehard Giants fan and tells it how it is. Not sure if I'm in the minority here but I really enjoy him on the Fan and he is doing a good job today.
Now- While discussing Andy Dalton, somehow Sid pulls Eli in the conversation, saying: "Eli wins during this time of the year, but he has had multiple one and dones."
But just listening to him, he is an awful. He said if you think eli is great then you are looking througb giants colored glasses and you just dont know anything about football, then goes to commercial for 10 mins. Then he claims because he is a diehard fan his say is better then any random fan on the radio. F him.
You never realize how much better wfan is on its regular schedule, even if you have bad opinions of the normal hosts, until you hear the awful replacements during vacation
and for the record I listened to this fuck wad for 15 minutes. Promptly turned it off and put on Sirius. He's not worth 10 minutes of my time let alone the gambling debts he accrued over the years.
Saying how he had been a diehard giants fan all his life except for 8yrs when the jets hurt him but thats another story. Well whats that story mr die hard?
the 0-6 start ,the 7-9 record ,being shut out 3 times in one year in today's nfl with a franchise qb (week 15 last year ,week 3 and week 15 this year ).Not being able to win a crap division where the winner had a rookie head coach while we have a 2 time super bowl mvp and a hall of fame head coach ? Cant take him seriously he is on the Giants payroll ..

If you listened to his comments, it sounds like everyone takes the hit. You can look at everyone and point out mistakes and miscues. Questionable coaching moves, questionable personnel moves, questionable player effort and decisionmaking.
Everyone on BBI has to listen to that interview. Wish Pappa would post here on BBI. Great, logical explanation why Fewel is back, Gilbride is back, and defense of Eli.
What I found most interesting, however, is what questions Pappa was asked. Sid asked very straight, tough questions about:
1. Both Coordinators
2. Reese
3. Manning.
Not one question about - nor one mention of - Coughlin. Almost as though it was agreed, as part of Pappa coming on live, that he would only agree to be on if there was no questions about Coughlin. Otherwise how do you do an interview where you question the Coordinators, the GM, the QB and not even mention the head coach by name even once the entire interview? How does that happen? It had to be intentional and agreed upon ... which means what exactly?
Another reason to fire Coughlin or reduce draft influence
Sintim - Coughlin and Sheridan
Petrus - Flaherty went on how this guy was a steal
Barden - Mike Sullivan
Beckum - Gilbride and Pope
JJ - Sullivan and Coughlin
Herlizch while not drafted John Mara. Please stop with the BC and ACC love.
You can blame Reese and his front office for cockblocking JJ with Cruz.
is probably coming back as Papa said. He's very active in New York, his wifes family is from the Philadelphia area so they are very close to them. I think he'll take a little less to stay in the area
Most of his sacks came in two games. He generated very little pressure for most of the season. He's got a place in a rotation given his strong run defense but they need someone to generate more pressure.
RE: Another reason to fire Coughlin or reduce draft influence

Wha?? So a guy that had the greatest season a Giants WR has ever had was "cockblocking" Jerrell fucking Jernigan? Based on a few garbage-time games at the end of this season? Talk about preposterous.
You can blame Reese and his front office for cockblocking JJ with Cruz
This is one of the more laughable things I've ever read on here.
C'mon, really? They gave JJ a lot of opportunity to do something noteworthy. He just didn't know what he was doing on the field for a while. Maybe he just got better over time.

I was addressing the fact that people were hard on JJ. I always felt it had less to do with his talent vs opportunity. For the first time in 3 years he had an opportunity to play his slot position.
These are my favorites - the Eli booster club, which consistently pisses on "stats" as the measure of QB performance.....consistently uses stats to claim that Eli was so much better than Simms, ignoring a)the very different nature of football today from the football of 1979-93 b)the fact that Simms never had remotely the kind of receivers Eli has had.
The very best receiver Phil Simms ever threw to was a half-season of Mike Sherrard in 1993. Eli's had a half-dozen receivers better than that (Toomer, Plax, Smith, Cruz, Nicks, Manningham). Quarterbacks are also far more protected than they used to be and defenders are given much less leeway by officials than they were in Simms' day.
I don't think BBI collectively likes ANY sports show host on WFAN.. Sid's problems aside and his bashing on ELI gets annoying but at least he talks about the Giants. Everyone brings up Sirius like it's some superior product, I happen to think it's pretty boring listing to the NFL sirius crew with the exception of a few. oh and BTW, I also enjoy francesa, joe and evan and Boomer and carton so I guess Im in the minority because I find WFAN to be very enjoyable.

It's because nobody talks about the Giants on that station. Everyone's a Jet fan or Francesa, who doesn't bother with it.
Sid talks Giants, but he's a lunatic, and it's a stupid discussion. He's still talking about the same topic (and congratulating himself) he brought up EIGHT SHOWS AGO.
The guy talks up Giants football a lot. Callers used to get on him about talking up NY teams so much. At least he is earnest in how he feels. His cohost got on him for bashing Eli right after SB 42.
at least you get Giants talk. Just be happy they're discussing the Giants at all because when he hosts a show it's pretty much all Giants talk. He likes to bust balls a lot re Eli.. I love Eli but he deserves some bashing this year, I'm sure if he played well next year Sid would be praising him. I know plenty of Giants fans who have been bashing Eli this year, he does not get a pass at all. Next year around Christmas Sid will be discussing how amazing Eli played, but at least he will be discussing it.
But he's far more interesting to listen to than 99% of the radio hosts on the WFAN and ESPN radio. He might be a degenerate off the air and he is clearly a self promoter on the air but I would love to see him come back to the NY area. I know he's posted on BBI but does anybody know what his screen name is and has he posted in awhile?

Greg, Simms was (and always will be) my favorite Giant and football player of all time. And he would be in the HOF right now if he was the starting QB in 1990 SB (although I think it's fair to question if Giants win that game without Hostetler's mobility) ... but Simms gets very little credit by Giants fans and, while I get that for fans who didn't see him play, I never understand the lack of respect for those that did. He was one tough as nails SOB and a perfect fit for those Giants teams. And, I've always said, I wouldn't have traded him for anyone, especially Mr. dink and dunk himself, Joe Montana.
Do talk Giants I enjoy their show. I'm not one of the BBIers who come on and post how they hate every single wfan host. Would I prefer Sid to say Steve Somers... Yes I would
Joe and Evan do talk Giants with those guests but way more Jets talk all year regardless of what is happening and they even drag Banks into Jets talk as well. It's not even close the percentage of Jets to Giants talk.
I can understand they will talk more about the jets. But in a 3 hour show I think they cover pretty much every team. And they actually arent giants haters like the clowns before them. Thats usually the only show i get to listen to during work and Im glad its them.

Yep. Simms gets treated like just some random schmuck by quite a few around here. He was a damned good QB who was utterly fearless and who succeeded despite playing with mediocre offensive talent and a prohibitively conservative offense.
Bill Walsh only drafted Montana because the Giants picked Simms first. The Niners didn't have a first round pick in 1979 because they traded it for OJ Simpson, but they had the first pick in the second round. Walsh told Simms at their last workout before the draft that they were certain no one was going to take him in the first and that he would be their pick in the second. Had Simms been a Niner, I don't know that he would have been as great as Montana but he'd be viewed a hell of a lot differently today.
I agree re: Simms vs. Eli .... No question in my mind ... Simms was an UNBELIEVABLE almost iron-clad, tough-as-nails QB that played with at best a hodge-podge of receivers (except Bavaro).

So Jernigan has two decent games playing out the string and now he should ave been ahead of Cruz all along? Sorry, he still sucks. Too small, not talented enough.
... Had Simms been a Niner, I don't know that he would have been as great as Montana but he'd be viewed a hell of a lot differently today.
And I don't think Montana would have necessarily fared nearly as well as Simms had Montana found himself playing with the 1979-1986 Giants. No Jerry Rice. Roger Craig. No passes for 2 yards turning into 60+ yard TDs. Nope. Stand there, throw the ball, and watch from the ground to try to see if it was complete. That was the life of Phil Simms. And was great at it.
no one worth a shit puts Simms in the "random schmuck" category. Both QBs were special in their own right. You want to tell me Simms would be the better QB for this Giants team? I can't argue with that. But Eli does have the bigger and flat out better body of work. He never misses games and he did lead the Giants to two complete super bowl titles. Simms threw a sweet ball and was as tough as a boot. Eli and Simms brought different strengths and weaknesses to the field. Both might have played better with more talent or in a different system but we can only go by wins losses and stats, do a degree. No harm in liking one over the other. But Eli has the bigger body of work. It is what it is.
One game? I don't think you could wrong with either guy.
with someone questioning Eli's value or potential going forward even if some of the doom and gloom is probably a bit far fetched, but I can see how a Giants fan would be a little nervous about 2014 and beyond. But Sid is a fuck wad when he disparages Eli's accomplishments through the 2012 season. The guy hasn't been perfect but you can't take his legendary play in 07 and 2011. And he's been solid throughout most of his career period. You can't take that away. Sid is a troll. Fuck him and fuck anyone who goes the Eli got lucky route. That's just terrible stupid talk.
It's perfectly valid to make a case for Eli over Simms. What bugs me is the dismissive tone some people take in those discussions, though, as if it's lunacy to suggest that Simms might have been the better QB.
Me? I'm a Simms guy all the way, but I don't discount my own biases and I'm plenty willing to concede that you can convincingly argue the other way.
I'm not going to ever argue that. I wasn't comparing Eli and Simms (Montana and Sims, yes, but not Eli)... It took me a long time to accept Eli but I got past that before he won his first SB ... for me it's been all gravy ever since ... fact is that it took 20 years to replace Simms and it will probably take as long, if not longer, to replace Eli. Most Eli bashers don't seem to understand that.
Sid is a diehard Giants fan and tells it how it is. Not sure if I'm in the minority here but I really enjoy him on the Fan and he is doing a good job today.
Caller asked who could have beat Favre in Green Bay..Sid makes some shit up that Favre was old, cold, he should won the game....
He's so full of shit.
That's not trolling???
You never realize how much better wfan is on its regular schedule, even if you have bad opinions of the normal hosts, until you hear the awful replacements during vacation
Sid is a clown. Why give him any time in your day?
He's lobbying for a job like Adam Rubin.
The latest crap being parroted is that outside of Two super titles Coughlin and Eli's run here has been average.
There is so much wrong and stupid about that statement...Sid doesn't deserve the Giants. He should be a Dallas or Jets fan.
Yea, throw out the glorious titles and what has any coaching staff ever accomplished? What did parcells do without 86 and 90?
And what the fuck happened in 2005 2008 and even 2010? 11, 10 and 12 wins seasons I guess mean nothing? Fuck Sid in his stupid face.
Talk radio, at least the successful kind, isn't for thoughtful analysis and discussion. It never really has been, but it certainly isn't now.
What a job.
I don't know why anyone finds him entertaining at all and I don't know why people keep putting him on the air.
To be fair, he also outlined the draft failures.
What???
He has played very well. Not getting sacks, but getting good pressure, played run very well.
He's not Strahan or Umenyiora. What he was this season is who he is, arguably the best run stopping DE in the NFL and a good pass rusher.
If you listened to his comments, it sounds like everyone takes the hit. You can look at everyone and point out mistakes and miscues. Questionable coaching moves, questionable personnel moves, questionable player effort and decisionmaking.

Jesus Christ.
No way WFAN hires him back while Francesca is still there.
Hey tommy..other than battle a touch of pneumonia right now, hanging in there doing alright. Hope all is good with you.
Nope. Carton is in a class by himself. But that doesn't mean I listen to either of them.
.
Guess he forgot that HIS ARM WAS HIT.
