If this is

the case then what in the world are they waiting for!?
.

I'm pretty sure they know what they're doing in terms of when he has the surgery. I don't think the hysterics are necessary.
Spines heal very slowly in some respects

Surgery is normally a last resort.

They've been waiting and giving it time to see how it heals on its own.
Neck surgery should DEFINITELY be rushed into

What could possibly go wrong?
No, Josh has a great point.
Randy in CT : 1/9/2014 3:01 pm : link
Surgeries aren't based on timing--they should do it when Josh says they are ready!

Absurd to wait so damn long. It fucked up JPP and it fucked up Snee's season last year.

This wait and see if it gets better is silly. He would be on his road to recovery by now.

they should rush it. I'm seriously asking what they're waiting for. It's already been 3 months since he was IR'd with the neck injury.
Why Wait?
Umenyiora72 : 1/9/2014 3:04 pm : link
1. ITS NECK SURGERY - Last resort
2. Need swelling to go down for surgery.

Thats why.
and swelling

can interfere with a clean MRI or CT scan. Man, I wish Wilson best of luck. I'd have loved to see him get a game with 1/2 an Oline and 20 carries.
Poor kid. hard to believe he will be able to maintain a career
BeerFridge : 1/9/2014 3:09 pm : link
with this injury.
that shit should have been done yesterday

WTF REECE CMON!
incredible thought process
Bradshaw #44 : 1/9/2014 3:14 pm : link
being age age Wilson is. Logically, you would let the body attempt to repair itself and the thought of surgery would be your last resort. Any type of back, or neck surgery regarding a pro athlete could be career ending.
Neck surgery for a running back

is pretty devastating. Its very possible we may not see Wilson next season regardless of when the surgery is done.
Easy to

say when it isn't your neck
Having had my neck

operated on (Fused c6/c7), I can tell you waiting to make sure it is right is important. BUT, waiting until the issue is so bad you lose your triceps on one arm due to nerve impingement not so good. I suspect he was being treated with the hope that the issue would calm down by itself with PT and other treatments.

I can't imagine Wilson playing RB after a spinal fusion but then again I am no doctor. BUt, I wouldn't count on him playing and it sounds like the Giants will prepare as if he won't be there.
RB
Rflairr : 1/9/2014 5:07 pm : link
no doubt a priority. I doubt anyone is depending on Brown
Doubt he plays next season.
Ron from Ninerland : 1/9/2014 5:13 pm : link
I was operated on for Spinal stenosis myself and had a triple fusion done. I was told it takes a year to fully heal and I don't play football. Not only do they have to do a fusion, but they will have to clean out his spinal canal of whatever is causing the stenosis. Its no simple thing.
the report from TC

is he has a neck.
It should have been done already. Ha!

This isn't a dislocated toe we are talking about.

Rashad Jennings seems like a nice choice but OAK might hang on to him. Not big on McFadden, MJD, or Chris Johnson.

I'd probably re-sign Brown and Hillis too.
