I always felt Pope got too much credit for what the TE's did.....Shockey was Shockey.....have to give him credit for Boss/Ballard.....they did produce, while coming out of nowhere.....but compared to other TE's out there, how would you rate them? While he took average guys and made them average TE's, isn't that what a coach should do? As for Bennett, he was already what he was.....now if you saw dramatic improvement from the first 4 games compared to the last 4 games, than you could say Pope had a real affect on him....I didn't see it.....
As for Myers, all we kept hearing from Pope was how his blocking had improved.....really?.....I saw a guy miss blocks at the end of the season like he did at the beginning....Robinson and Donnell? If only they wouldn't trip over their own feet and stay inbounds.....that has nothing to do with coaching....or does it?
I think the legend of Pope is greatly exaggerated....
that he worked wonders with Jakes Ballard and Martellous Bennett. As the rule goes, if your going to blame him for the lack of production from Myers and Robinson, he certainly gets props for his work with the other tight ends that have been here.
is shaking the foundation of the Catholic Church with his liberal proclamations, and now he's dabbling as a Tight End coach! A little out of his area of expertise I would think!
No shortage of targets for Romo. That team's problems lie elsewhere.
Pope probably is an excellent coach, considering the chorus of praise for him over the years. He seems to have done much of his best work for the Giants early in his first stint, with Mowatt and Bavaro (although Jamie Williams and Malcolm Scott did nothing here). Later, Pope made a useful player out of Howard Cross, who might have been a more complete TE if Pope had stuck around.
In his second tour, Pope got unexpected mileage from Boss and Ballard, and he helped set up Martellus Bennett for a big payday. Can't give him much credit [i]or[/] blame for Shockey, a huge natural talent who seems to have been largely uncoachable. Dan Campbell was a less-durable version of Cross, who was simply overdrafted. Visanthe Shiancoe is a bit of a mark against Pope, considering the way he thrived in Minnesota.
Still shocked why Ingram and pope get canned
And ryan and Quinn and Gilbride jr
Get saved. Now will the replacements
Be as good? It will be a joke....
And why would mara try to extend
Tc. Then he would have to keep him
A few more years since he won't
Get fired if he has to pay contract.
I think mara is going to get burned.
This coaching staff needs a lot if he
Thinks we will make it to playoffs..

Please answer me. (Maybe it was Myers stinking it up, will a new guy turn him into a bone crushing blocking machine, or keep him from tripping over his own feet, on the way to a TD ?)
If it's true that they can do better, well then fine, screw the Cowboys. Have the Giants hired a replacement ? If not who are the candidates ?
Eventually, whoever it is, he'd better be a lot better. Else, was it change for the sake of change ? - that's messed up.
Nobody here knows why they fired any of the staff they did

It could simply be a matter of the new OC wanting the TE's to play in a certain way and he's bringing in his own guy to teach them. I don't know. It's scary losing one of our better coaches, especially to the Cowboys. But that's football. Things change and we can only guess why.
On a more serious note, the switch to a completely new offense/terminology came at the right time.
YEP
grow up

Best wishes to Coach Pope as a man, regardless of his colors.
And very self-indulgent!

LOL.
Here's the plan guys. Win the toss, choose to receive. Ball gets kicked off, Robinson gets hurt, got it? Good.
Is this a serious thought? He should show some loyalty to the team that just fired him?
This must be a joke.
Oh, not that Pope? Sorry.
OR.... your family you need to support.
They just dont make Giants fans like they used to anymore.
and you're 11

They fired Waufle with no explanation. We come to find out he'd been constantly complaining about being underpaid and wanting more money.
