The Denver Broncos have an interest in LB Jon Beason, according to The Denver Post ... because the Broncos want to sign everybody.
I'm really hoping he doesn't see big money in FA.
they would spend on O Line after seeing what Seattle did to them in the Super Bowl.
"The Broncos also are considering Jon Beason of the New York Giants, and possibly Baltimore's Daryl Smith at middle linebacker."
Keep in mind, Jon Beason played for Broncos head coach John Fox in Carolina -- Beason was the Panthers’ first-round pick in 2007

any offer he gets or at least improve on theirs if he finds more money elsewhere. Seems as though teams are checking in on him for a value signing as opposed to overpay to get it done.
If he signs with Denver, it just eases the way for us to sign Pat Angerer.

Pretty much
but the guy Foxie drafted was a terrific stud..A healthy stud..This Beason is more of a crapshoot health-wise and to invest big dollars in him? Not very wise. I'd love to have him back, but at what "guaranteed money" price?
they are going to lure any and everyone over to that team it seems. I really hope we keep Beason.
PFF says this guy is a liability in coverage!!!!
i expect my MLB to blanket McCoy on 2-way goes, and cover gronkowski 1on1, or I'll find someone who can
in a few years. They're risking it all for the chance to win one with Peyton.
And they're rumored to get Ware as well. Would they even have the room to get Beason on top of that?
will be a bit more willing to listen to Beason's views if he musters up an offer...
will indeed give us a chance to match..
window is closing fast. Manning turns 38 in a few weeks and you figure he's got another year or 2 left before he retires. Unless you think Brock Osweiler is the future, the Broncos will be all about the here and now and will probably have a ton of dead money on their cap once the Manning run is done. Think somewhere similar to the Colts in 2011, when Manning was out and the Colts decided to more or less just pack it in and start over (and they were fortunate that Andrew Luck was waiting there for them). The 2015 or 2016 Broncos will be a train wreck, but that's not what Elway is worried about right now.
Gee, let's try to buy a Super Bowl.
They have to be up against the cap? Especially after their signings yesterday.

They can always pay a lot up front and spread the money out for future years. I figure by the time they reach "cap hell" we'll John Elway wants to spend more time with his family and leaves.
shaping up as a another Reese disaster. We lost Joseph for a very fair contrcat amount to the Vikes and he wanted to be here. Now if we lose Beason to John Fox (his original mentor) in Denver. Our defense has lost the two best players on last years good defense. Now the challenged DC Fewell will have much less to work with. Last year it was the neglected Ol. This year it could be the front seven on defense. Get ready for a long season followed by the firing of Reese at its end if this comes to pass.
and losing Beason would only prove to be one if they don't bring in someone else to replace him. How do we know they don't have someone else in mind?
Losing LJ, Beason and Tuck would clearly deteriorate our run defense.
Hope we get good news on the latter two...

Holy hyperbole!
that's a wonderful way of looking at things...lol.
I swear some of you can't wait to lower the boom on this regime. Reports of a player taking a shit means it's time to kill Reese.
That was supposed to quote..
"If he doesn't take the vet minimum, let him walk."
But I guess the feature is a little broken and actual quotations kill the HTML somehow.
just about erase the positive free agent day that we had yesterday.
Doubt we're going to lose Beason.. take a deep breath, fellas.
It would be a bit disconcerting if he didn't garner any interest elsewhere, no?
I think he's still a priority and I think part of letting LJ walk was probably to be sure we could retain Beason.
did we re-sign Beason yet?
BTW - for all you "next man up" guys, my fear isn't Hankins getting more snaps...its Kuhn getting some or a lot if our other 32+ year old DTs break down.
The guy became the instant leader and tied the entire unit together. Reese better not get cute and lose such an important player on this team. For those they think he's so easily replaced must not have been watching the stumblin and bumblin replacing Pierce.
would be the biggest FA loss. And, it is starting to look more and more like a possibility.
doesn't mean its likely he's leaving. Strange thought process.
sucks... reports earlier said that he is looking for more dough... i think the giants will be outpriced
are at the top of the heap right now looking to stay there and win it all while Peyton is still there. They will do what is necessary to get a few players to make that happen now. Fox is a great HC and defensive guy. He knows Beason very well. if Fox wants him as the final piece we could definitely lose him to them.
it's his value and the Broncos as well as other teams could use him.
seeing what his market value is. If the Giants offered him $4 million/year and the Broncos or whoever offer $8 million, for example, how could we blame him for taking it?
But I really hope we keep him
get the most while you can
but our regime is garbage. Interesting.
Beason is acting as his own agent.
Which means unlike all of the other players who had agents that were allowed to talk to other teams since this past Saturday, Beason's window to talk to others JUST STARTED. He needs to find his worth and may have even been told to do so from the Giants so long as he gives first dibs to match. This is not uncommon.
But.. but... but..
HE'S GONNA LEAVE. REASE IS DOING THE WORST JOBV EVER HE SHOULD HAVE HAD BESIN SIGNED A WEEK AGO WHAT IS HE DOING!!!
First off, it's possible that Beason leaves, but to assume he's gone just because he's visiting the Broncos??? Secondly, the Giants put a value on Beason and he thought he could get more in the open market. Good for him, but you can't get on the Giants for not caving to his demands. Lastly, I still think we will have a chance to match and I think we would go up a bit from our offer to retain him, but there needs to be another offer for us to go up.
hopefully they aren't dicking around.
With his injury history. At Denver he has to compete for a job (and remember he lost an OLB position to Chase Blackburn last year) and he has to impress a new set of coaches. If he gets hurt Denver would be quick to unload him.
With the Giants the coaches already love him and he has a starting job waiting for him. Reese should be able to outbid Denver or any other team for reasonable money.

Well all that made zero sense...
Maybe if you have a dictionary nearby.
Just heard on radio he signed with us

"Last years good defense", are you on crack? The issue concerning Joseph is he was not a premier DT, he was not the same caliber as Jenkins. Beason did a great job with what he had which included an inability to cover receivers.
The most accurate thing you pointed out was Feweel could not muster a decent defense due to his inability to put the best players on the field in the best position to stop opposing offenses! Again, JMO.
