FA period is burning me out!
Hope he gets 82 back, Randle should just go ahead and take 88
David in LA : 3/16/2014 5:13 pm : link
Not sure how much Mario has left in the tank, but for obvious sentimental reasons, I'm ok with this. Plus BBI gets one of its favorite whipping boys back. Can't wait for all the threads questioning his mental acuity.
What exactly were his injuries in san fran?

Would love to see Rio come back.

Mario should have plenty left in the tank

Would really like him to return
DonnieD89 : 3/16/2014 5:14 pm : link
Would be an easier transition at WR.
I would like him back
Paulie Walnuts : 3/16/2014 5:15 pm : link
If Eli wants him, we'll get him back
I'd
AcidTest : 3/16/2014 5:15 pm : link
look into it. The ACL tear was in 2012 IIRC. He would at least add some depth. We could probably get him cheaply.
How many Giants have come back

after leaving ? Can you think of any ?

Bring back 'rio!

he's only 27, should have plenty left.
Manningham
Samiam : 3/16/2014 5:17 pm : link
I think his problem with the Gaints was an inability to grasp the offemse and hewas oftem not on the same page as Eli which is the same problem that Randle has. The change in OCs might help if only with this aspect of the game. Wold love to see Manningham come back.

Brandon Jacobs.
No thanks. He isnt
AnishPatel : 3/16/2014 5:18 pm : link
productive anymore. On the plus side the system is different so he won't be hanging Eli out to dry. We have RR for that now.
PEEJ...
Aaron Thomas : 3/16/2014 5:18 pm : link
Brandon Jacobs...David Carr...I know carr wasn't a true Giant but still.

and NY Giants football.
This is beginning to look like a team of current/ex-potheads
Blue21 : 3/16/2014 5:19 pm : link
What's up with that?
The guy just made the second greatest catch in Giants history 2 years
Mondo : 3/16/2014 5:19 pm : link
ago and is only 27.
I liked him as a deep threat
phil in arizona : 3/16/2014 5:20 pm : link
If he can still get deep it would be a great signing.

Tell that to Brandon Jacobs and Jessie Armstead.
Manningham gets a bad rap from most giant fans
SLIM : 3/16/2014 5:21 pm : link
The guy had a great year in 2010 for us. His biggest problem in 2011 was the emergence of crUz and that he had minor dings. If he is healthy it makes complete sense for both sides to join together again
He's only 27.
Klaatu : 3/16/2014 5:21 pm : link
It wouldn't hurt to bring him in, see how the knee is.
How bad was his knee injury?
arcarsenal : 3/16/2014 5:22 pm : link
I didn't follow it that closely.
If I recall, McAdoo said he'd like to retain the route trees
KeoweeFan : 3/16/2014 5:23 pm : link
but cut down on the number of reads the WR/QBs had to make simultaneously, cutting back on the "thinking" the WRs had to do and let them play more naturally.
(My recollection was that "thinking" was not one of 'Rio's fortes.)
Maybe he'd thrive under the revised system.
Yes yes yes!

Randle's inability to even understand cover 0 gave me a new
Riggies : 3/16/2014 5:23 pm : link
appreciation/tolerance for Mario's mental whiffs.

The offense is going to be at least slightly different anyway (maybe a little less complex, who knows...), so if he's healthy and comes cheap, I don't really see the downside.
He can replace
AnishPatel : 3/16/2014 5:24 pm : link
Murphy I guess. But I'd still draft WRs and a TE.
this offense will
SBlue46 : 3/16/2014 5:26 pm : link
Be easy...and 88 was a bigger
Pothead thab 82...dont curse
Randle w 88...
Maybe I should have phrased that better.
PEEJ : 3/16/2014 5:26 pm : link
Although a few games from Jacobs and Ross and a few snaps from Carr aren't exactly meaningful contributions.
Dang!

Friday afternoon is the last time I looked at BBI, So bumming around late on a Sunday, I figure, "what the hell...I'll take a look to see if anything happened on the weekend".

Apparently we have a whole new team....haha.
He'd easily be more useful than Murphy. He's about as proven
Ten Ton Hammer : 3/16/2014 5:28 pm : link
a 3-4th WR as you can have, and they don't have one right now.
Love it!
shockey07458 : 3/16/2014 5:29 pm : link
I want Mario back in blue. He thrived playing with Eli. Also want to hear more:

Manning to Manningham- first down!
he had a rough year
Fish : 3/16/2014 5:29 pm : link
He can easily get back on track with Eli. Also bet him being more mature helps out.
Eh
JonC : 3/16/2014 5:30 pm : link
They need to find a TE with limited remaining fundage.
What the hell are the Giants doing

Quietly building a decent team.

You must be one of those "prepare to have a bad season"
disciples. Even though it's only fucking March 16th....
Hope

He really came on in 2012. If not for injuries I think he'd have done

well.

Bingo! If healthy he could have a nice year in this new system
