Your latest top five targets at 12

GmenDynasty : 3/22/2014 7:22 pm
With all the FA signings and in lieu of the Lewan news, who are your top 5 realistic picks at 12?

I'll start:

1. Ebron (one of best TE prospects of the last few years and McAd0o will have big plans for him)
2. Evans (monster WR with hands, faster than Plax)
3. Marquise Lee (going to be a stud WR- 191 catches his first 2 years in a major college program)
4. Aaron Donald (category 4 hurricane)
5. Anthony Barr (if they like his fit as DE in the 4-3)

The offensive line is the solution to both of these issues, with TE a distant second and WR not even in consideration.

Agreed properly addressing the OL is huge. Which is why Id be amazed if we dont get one in the first 3 rds (most likely rd 2)
Keep your eyes on USC wr

Nelson Agholar this season. Great speed and hands.
My top 5
Mike in Jersey : 3/23/2014 12:17 pm : link
1. Eric Ebron. There isn't a starting caliber TE on the roster right now, this position has to be addressed in the first 2 rounds.

2. Jake Matthews. It is highly unlikely that he even makes it to 12, but he is the only tackle I would be happy with at 12. (Assuming there is no shot at Robinson. Don't want any part of Lewan or Martin)

3. Mike Evans. Need to find a replacement for Nicks, Im not convinced that Randle is that guy.

4. Anthony Barr. Not the ideal fit, but I think he is going to be a stud.

5. Timmy Jernigan. DT is a real possibility at 12, and I prefer him over Donald.
Why go for Evans at 12? He's a guy who can't get separation

and has to fight for every ball. There are a number of really tall, strong receivers in this draft who have great speed and can get separation, and can be taken in later rounds.

Clearly teams must be seeing things in him that I don't since he's universally considered a guy who'll likely go in the top half of the first round. But I think that at 12 you can get a difference-maker at another position, and still get a great value pick at WR later in the draft.
Would like to see a Matthews, Robinson or Watkins fall

but highly unlikely; therefore, my targets:

Lewan
Evans
Barr
Enron
Benjamin
We most likely

Won't even get a sniff of Mack or Watkins.
1. Evans
2. Donald
3. Matthews. Only OL I'd take at 12
4. Ealy
5. Lee in no order
As mentioned, would welcome Shazier, but would have to trade up to get him if he gets out of the 1st.
My top 5 would be

1. Donald
2. Evans
3. Barr (but where do you play him?)
4. Ebron (another Myers if he can't block)
5. Martin (consolation prize)

I Wanted Either Gilbert OR Dennard

But with the FA signing I'll go with

Taylor Lewan
Zack Martion
Eric Ebron
Mike Evans
Tim Jernigan
With our 12th Pick
ReneNYG1 : 3/23/2014 6:42 pm : link
1-Donald
2-Evans
One of those two should be there and I'm all in for Donald. If he happens to go before us then I would of wanted Gilbert if he drops but not now that we went wild in FA.
Evans is for real and has nice hands ,he runs fast too he should dominate at the next level.Donald is a perfect fit for us and we can tstunt him and he can rush the passer from anywhere.
top 12 are-Bortles,Mathews,Bridgewater,Manzeil,Robinson,Watkins,Mack, Clowney,Gilbert,Lewan,Barr.
Evans

for a guy that doesn't get separation /sarcasm he sure catches a lot of TD's behind the defense. Very physical blocker downfield in the ground attack. He's a complete football player. For me he's really separated(get it) himself at this stage and is my clear favorite if he lasts til #12(doubtful imo).

Lewan- I like his tape and he plays with some snarl. Rare athlete at his size. I think he'll be starting as a rookie and the sky is the limit. Our line needs to get tougher, he's the anti-Beatty in that regard.

Ebron- reminds me of Keith Jackson who killed us when he was with Philly. Similar body type and skillset. IMO he's the top TE prospect to come out since Vernon Davis.

Anthony Barr- He terrorizes QB's. It's that simple. He's knocked a bunch out of games and I think he'll do the same as a pro. That's good enough for me. If a professional coordinator can't find ways to put this guy in position to succeed he should be fired.

Johnny Manziel- I look at it this way...if you had a chance to draft Drew Brees would you? I see a host of similarities between the two. The most important of which is they make everyone around them better. Simply put he's a winner. Probably won't be available but this was my final slot so what the Hell.
I like Martin due to his versatility and experience
SGMen : 3/23/2014 6:53 pm : link
I think the guy comes in and starts just like Pugh did last year. Eli needs to be protected AND we need to run the ball better if we are to make any run this year.

I like TE in round 2.
