Hey there Giants fans, I thought you might be interested in a Broncos fan's take on all of their free agents that the Giants signed. Pretty fascinating that the Giants have signed four of them, but I'm not complaining, as I tend to like to see former players go to the NFC, and I think it speaks well that a team as well-run as the Giants are taking in players the Broncos largely didn't have room for anymore. It also helps the Broncos break their league-longest drought on getting compensatory draft picks. Anyway, on to the players themselves:
--DRC: The big question, as you probably know from his time with the Eagles, is whether he's a contract player. We won't know for sure, of course, and those retirement quotes before the Super Bowl were odd, to say the least. But if he plays at or near the level he did in Denver, you should be getting a very good cover corner. It was difficult to say whether or not he was better than Chris Harris, but it could be fairly said that they were 1A and 1B on Denver's CB rankings. I would have rather seen the Broncos re-sign him than go after Talib due to all the character flags, but it is what it is. Given where the Giants previously stood at CB, I see this as an improvement, no doubt. How much of an improvement could factor on how the money will affect him.
--Ayers: Excellent against the run, mediocre against the pass. He was slated to start when the Broncos cut Elvis Dumervil, but was passed up by Shaun Phillips because he could rush the passer better. With the emergence of Derek Wolfe and Malik Jackson as run-stuffers, there just wasn't any place for Ayers anymore. With the Giants, he should be at least a solid rotational guy and I could see him complementing JPP very well.
--Holliday: Absolutely maddening, both in the exciting and horrifying manners. You guys saw him at his best when the Broncos played the Giants last season--he's a threat to run it back every time he get a hold of the ball. However, because he's so tiny by NFL standards, he's very liable to fumble it. Using Trindon will always be a big gamble, with high risk and high reward. He'll get your adrenaline flowing, no doubt.
--Walton: Injuries have just derailed what was otherwise a solid career thus far. He stepped in from Day 1 his rookie season to take over the center position and did a very good job. Unfortunately, the broken ankle he suffered in 2012 was just gruesome, and it took him much longer than anticipated to recover. In the meantime, Peyton Manning developed an excellent rapport with Manny Ramirez at center, and even if Walton was healthy, there was no longer room for him. The worry is that Chris Kuper suffered a similar injury, and it forced him to retire. I hope that's not the case for Walton, but it's a possibility. I'll be rooting for him to do well.
I may check in with this board for a while in case anyone wants to ask me any questions on my opinion on watching these four players. Best of luck next season--I would love to see a Manning Super Bowl before it's too late!

so basically you're saying we got a money grubber, a 2nd stringer, another 2nd stringer and a KR/PR nobody can count on?
Real nice....GTFO
For what it is worth, I was really rooting for you guys in the SB!
Of course you know more than someone who watched him every single game...
LOL...

Clams really loves his clams casino. Everything else sucks.
I laughed too.
I don't think Walton will be an issue as I'm sure the medical staff cleared him. He is a veteran who is likely hungry for bigger money should he hold up and play well for us.
Ayers was a need signing at DE. He can stop the run and provide us with the much needed depth.
DRC is a need. We have a superb secondary if he plays up to his capabilities. I actually see our secondary shutting down most teams.
Holliday is a pure special teamer with moves that will electrify the MetLife Stadium. Lets hope he can be coached through on fumbles.
Also, just wondering whether Walton is a better pass or run blocker. Giants OL was horrendous up the middle on both but particularly pass blocking.
-b-but, I Looooove Clams Casinoooo......wahh-wahh wahhhhh
Plenty of practice.
I'm also a big Peyton Hillis fan if he has his head screwed on straight. He never got a fair shake in Denver.

From what I can recall, I felt that Walton performed equal in the run and the pass, but it's been almost two years since he's played so I'd have to look at old tape to get a better answer. He's a tough guy, though, and I'd imagine he'd fit in well with a Tom Coughlin team.
Center isn't really that hard to find players.
I can see Holliday infuriating Coughlin and possibly getting benched and I have a feeling Walton will be an early IR candidate.
Klaatu-fuck you, seriously. I can't be critical of a signing without you assuming I'm off my rocker? Who died and made you the king of football? Fucking dick, fuck you.
LOL - that's rich, coming from a guy who started a post proclaiming a bad 2014 season for the Giants. On March 12th.
So no, I don't have to "accept" anything, especially from an internet nobody who is delusional enough to think he's some sort of expert talent evaluator...
Keep the jokes coming, though...

I didn't say off your rocker, I said off your meds. There's a difference. I also said it in jest, but if you're going to be so sensitive about it then fuck you, too.
Klaatu- I don't care if you're joking, I don't know you, we aren't friends, we don't pal around so you making jokes at my expense isn't funny to me its simply insulting. I don't like the direction this team is headed so that makes me nuts and you and that dipshit speedy all knowing and wise? Yeah, sure you guys are a regular Madden and Summerall. Neither one of you has a clue what you're watching but keep on thinking you do, it will be fun to watch you both unravel as this team sucks it up on the field and you are left wondering how your genius couldn't see it coming.
And while you're waiting for it, tell us again how good Clint Sintim is going to be, O, Lord of All Things Football! Hosebag in the Highest!
