2004 Eli's first win vs Dallas
2005 36-0 vs Skins after Mara dies
2005 Comeback vs Denver 24-23 vs Denver
2006 Comeback to beat Eagles
2007 Loss to New England
2007 Osi 6 sack game
2008 vs Bengals OT win
2008 vs Steelers
2008 vs Panthers OT win
2009 vs Dallas in new stadium
2011 24-20 win vs New England
2011 37-34 win over dallas
2011 29-14 win vs Jets
2012 27-23 win over Skins
2013 the last play of the year
Some fine choices. I don't know which is my favorite. Maybe the 2011 win over Dallas or the 2005 win over Denver. BUT then there's the 24-20 win in New England!!!! Ah, I gotta go with the 28-35 LOSS to New England. Proved the Giants could hang with a 16-0 team!
RIP Kurt Cobain 20 years
Comeback vs Eagles ( Get that shit outta here!)
Good list.
I'd also add the blowout of the Ravens a few years back. Another physically dominant smackdown of a highly regarded, tough team. Jacobs ate RayRay's lunch that day.
I also agree with JRud on the Baltimore game. That was the year nobody could rush for 100 on them, and Jacbos just straight bulldozed them to the tune of 95 in the first half (I think that is the number). I'll never forget him just giving Ed Reed the business on his way to the endzone. Too bad Jacobs got hurt, because I seriously believe he could have hit 150 yards had he played the entire game.
But that 2008 game vs the Bengals was great even though they had a tough time beating a winless team. Toomer had a SPECTACULAR catch on the sideline. I think Kevin Boss had a crucial TD as well.
You can watch that game on iTunes. Its available under the 'best games of 2008' (They choose the best nfl game played on that week and the giants-bengals game might've qualified for week 3) if I'm not mistaken. Or 'top 10 games in Giants history'. Its probably the former and not the latter based on common sense lol
that 2008 team just beat the shit out of other teams. alot of their wins (especially before Plax used his sweatpants as a holster) were physically impressive. they made the Ravens their bitch. just physically maimed them.
the Dallas win at home was fun too, the Cowboys secondary was basically running away from Jacobs in the second half. I don't know if there will ever be a team that plays like that anymore. 207 yards on the ground vs. the Ravens. just a shame it wasn't completed.
The Pats game in 2011 at Foxboro was another really awesome one. Vintage Eli daggering the Pats yet again. Loved skullfucking the 49ers in their building in 2012 even though we didn't make the playoffs.. that was probably our most satisfying win of the year.
That trouncing of Baltimore in 2008 was also one of my favorites. They were a physical team and our offense smacked them right in the fucking mouth and ran them over. Jacobs hitting Ray Lewis head on never gets old.
some particular faves:
2008 Panthers OT Ground battle
2009 Cowboys Home Opener / Eli autographed stall game
2011 Patriots in Foxboro
Christmas eve against the Jets with so much on the line for both teams, thier home game but our stadium.
Then Dallas with the division and playoff spot on the line.
With these two wins we get the first home playoff game in the new stadium and roll all the way to the super bowl.

You could debate what ultimately caused the 08 team to stumble, I personally think it was a combination of Burress, injuries, and plain old burn out. At one point bridging the seasons they were on an 18-2 run IIRC (might be 17-3). What I don't think is a debate is that at its peak, in the midst of that 12-1 start, that was the best Giants football team I've seen in 20 years.
Validated Eli's NFL on-field leadership ability;
both somewhat in question at that point.
Plus: it was the EAGLES! In THEIR house!
Thanks, gonna check itunes right now
Phil in LA. Very sad day. Can't think about it without breaking down at least a little.
