Favorite REGULAR season wins in Coughlin era?

Eddie From Toronto : 4/4/2014 11:58 pm
2004 Eli's first win vs Dallas
2005 36-0 vs Skins after Mara dies
2005 Comeback vs Denver 24-23 vs Denver
2006 Comeback to beat Eagles
2007 Loss to New England
2007 Osi 6 sack game
2008 vs Bengals OT win
2008 vs Steelers
2008 vs Panthers OT win
2009 vs Dallas in new stadium
2011 24-20 win vs New England
2011 37-34 win over dallas
2011 29-14 win vs Jets
2012 27-23 win over Skins
2013 the last play of the year

Some fine choices. I don't know which is my favorite. Maybe the 2011 win over Dallas or the 2005 win over Denver. BUT then there's the 24-20 win in New England!!!! Ah, I gotta go with the 28-35 LOSS to New England. Proved the Giants could hang with a 16-0 team!
It's friday night! EVerybody on BBI do the Friday DANCE

but then I realized this is too difficult. every win is my fav. although obviously there are some wins you enjoy less than others (ala home vs Minnesota just last year)
Osi game was a blast

So was Tiki destroying the Skins
Comeback vs Eagles ( Get that shit outta here!)
Good list.
The 08 Steelers game was a lot of fun.

They went into Pittsburgh and laid an absolute beating on a tough, physical Steeler team. Also loved the Panthers game that same year. Dominant ground performance the likes of which we haven't seen since.

I'd also add the blowout of the Ravens a few years back. Another physically dominant smackdown of a highly regarded, tough team. Jacobs ate RayRay's lunch that day.
The 2011 road win at Dallas

Is not only coughlin's biggest regular season win here in NY it's probably the giants biggest regular season win in over 30 years and really could be their biggest regular season win ever. Down 12 with few minutes remaining and they not only win, they go on to win the east, the NFC and the NFL title. Peace.
06 Comeback on Philly
SimpleMan : 4/5/2014 1:06 am : link
was just amazing. Plax catching the TD and chucking the ball into the stands was awesome.

I also agree with JRud on the Baltimore game. That was the year nobody could rush for 100 on them, and Jacbos just straight bulldozed them to the tune of 95 in the first half (I think that is the number). I'll never forget him just giving Ed Reed the business on his way to the endzone. Too bad Jacobs got hurt, because I seriously believe he could have hit 150 yards had he played the entire game.
For some reason I love all the 2008 games
Eddie From Toronto : 4/5/2014 1:09 am : link
because fucking NFL rewind doesn't allow you to watch any games prior to 2009 on their archives. I really liked the Cincinnati game at home. I was so pissed because I had got an offer from a myspace buddy to go to the game who was a marine and was overseas when the Giants played the Packers. I mailed him a DVD and he offered to bring me to the game but I slept late that day. It was my friend's birthday party and we drove 120 miles to Atlantic city. I think it was also the final day in the old Yankee Stadium.

But that 2008 game vs the Bengals was great even though they had a tough time beating a winless team. Toomer had a SPECTACULAR catch on the sideline. I think Kevin Boss had a crucial TD as well.
2 or 3 plays preceding that toomer catch
Neverend : 4/5/2014 2:07 am : link
Eli made a phenomenal throw to Plax right over Leon Hall. It was an indefensible throw

You can watch that game on iTunes. Its available under the 'best games of 2008' (They choose the best nfl game played on that week and the giants-bengals game might've qualified for week 3) if I'm not mistaken. Or 'top 10 games in Giants history'. Its probably the former and not the latter based on common sense lol

that 2008 team just beat the shit out of other teams. alot of their wins (especially before Plax used his sweatpants as a holster) were physically impressive. they made the Ravens their bitch. just physically maimed them.

the Dallas win at home was fun too, the Cowboys secondary was basically running away from Jacobs in the second half. I don't know if there will ever be a team that plays like that anymore. 207 yards on the ground vs. the Ravens. just a shame it wasn't completed.
There are so many...
arcarsenal : 4/5/2014 3:19 am : link
But the first one I randomly thought of was the 2006 game against Philly... Plax catching that and the whole "get that shit outta here!!" thing was so fucking awesome. We hadn't won a SB yet in the Eli era so that was just such a big win at the time. And Eli's throw was ridiculous... getting it there under pressure like that was amazing.

The Pats game in 2011 at Foxboro was another really awesome one. Vintage Eli daggering the Pats yet again. Loved skullfucking the 49ers in their building in 2012 even though we didn't make the playoffs.. that was probably our most satisfying win of the year.

That trouncing of Baltimore in 2008 was also one of my favorites. They were a physical team and our offense smacked them right in the fucking mouth and ran them over. Jacobs hitting Ray Lewis head on never gets old.

so many, it's hard to pick
jeffusedtobeonwebtv : 4/5/2014 5:57 am : link
but, I'll go with 2. The win in Dallas to break in Jerry's new stadium and the win against the jests highlighted by Cruz's 99 yard catch and run just before halftime.
wow - great list

any of those will do!

some particular faves:

2008 Panthers OT Ground battle
2009 Cowboys Home Opener / Eli autographed stall game
2011 Patriots in Foxboro
2006 Comeback to beat Eagles

beating the Eagles is always very sweet.
For me

It,s the last two games in 2011
Christmas eve against the Jets with so much on the line for both teams, thier home game but our stadium.
Then Dallas with the division and playoff spot on the line.
With these two wins we get the first home playoff game in the new stadium and roll all the way to the super bowl.

Such a great win. Lit the fuse for a great run. Finally quieted the J-E-S-T. Saved Christmas.

You could debate what ultimately caused the 08 team to stumble, I personally think it was a combination of Burress, injuries, and plain old burn out. At one point bridging the seasons they were on an 18-2 run IIRC (might be 17-3). What I don't think is a debate is that at its peak, in the midst of that 12-1 start, that was the best Giants football team I've seen in 20 years.
People forget that season how close the Steelers game was.
gmen1234 : 4/5/2014 9:30 am : link
Even with Plax there was no guarantee they beat the Steelers again. If they even get that far.
2006 Eagles.

Validated TCs player motivational ability;
Validated Eli's NFL on-field leadership ability;
both somewhat in question at that point.

Plus: it was the EAGLES! In THEIR house!
Yea I love that Eagle 06 game
Eddie From Toronto : 4/5/2014 12:43 pm : link
But for some reason the only comeback that ever matters was the Eagles '10 one...Oh well

Thanks, gonna check itunes right now

Was it 26 to 3? In SF, after SF claiming they should have beaten Giants in NFC Championship Game. Tuck before game whispering to camera "this is going to be a sloberknocker"

Phil in LA. Very sad day. Can't think about it without breaking down at least a little.
