went to the Indiana pro day IIRC. But then Reese and company have been to a lot of pro days. But if we want him, we'll have to take him in the second round IMO. Sy has a first round grade on him. He certainly won't be taken in the first, but he's really coming on. Big, physical, and fast. Ran a 4.38 at his pro day, which is tremendous for a receiver his size. My only concern is that he is coming off a broken foot. I'd rather stay away from players with recent injuries, especially if he had to have a screw inserted.
He'll be doing some of the things he didn't do at Indiana's Pro Day, like running routes and catching passes. He did run in the 4.4s, and had a 39-inch VJ.
Pundit opinions vary. Nolan Narwocki at NFL.com gives him a round 4-5 grade, and says he has a ceiling as a #3 WR. Over at DraftNasty, Corey Chavous gives him a 2nd round grade, and says this:
Quote:
He's a raw, strong wide receiver with tremendous body control and leaping ability on the field. He times passes along the sidelines with excellent body dexterity, and he's capable of out-muscling upper-tier cornerbacks one-on-one in the Red Zone. An apt NFL comparison would be Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe.
Your source aside, the Giants need a speed WR. They will do their due diligence and rank all acceptable WRs. My guess is their targets will mostly go in round 2-3.
IMO, ideally, Giants want to get an interior OL and Receiver(WR or pass catching TE)in the first 2-3 rounds.
I still think Evans and Ebron (along with Donald) are the most likely picks at #12.
As does Davonte (sp?) Adams from Fresno, this kid Latimer, and another dozen or so WRs this year who look to be +/- the current crop equivalent of Reuben Randle. There will be a bevy of solid WR choices for the Giants in the 2nd round, and I daresay some pretty good ones still on the board for their pick in the 3rd round too.
...doesn't mean they are considering him with a premium pick. With the draft so deep at WR this year, teams may see him as "day two talent" that they can get on day three.
indicate that the Eagles are interested in Latimer, too; possibly as high as Round One - which, in my estimation, would be an enormous mistake for them. He can be had much, much later in the draft.
But if Philly wants to spend their first pick on him, more power to 'em.
but I've seen nothing that indicates Lattimer will be taken in round two...most things i've read have him 4-6.
if we chose him 4 or later i'd be very pleased
looks like his routes are a little sloppy, will need to work on that, but very good overall

Sigh
Is he any good? See for yourself.

CBS has him as the 25th ranked WR.

Other teams and other offenses are a bit more tolerant. I'm hoping that the new offense will help get more talent on the field sooner.
was emailed this by a friend who works for an AFC South team...confirmed...
Personally, I'm hoping they draft Moncrief, just for Ole Miss connection.
Draftsite.com mocks him as a 7th rounder to San Diego and one of the last WRs to be drafted.
Great Blue North has him rated the #14 WR in this draft.
Scott Wright of Draft Countdown views him as the #24 WR.
TFY Draft rates him as the #31 WR with a 6th round projection.
Draw your own conclusions. Mine is that he's a third day pick.
Those were some dark days.
But if Philly wants to spend their first pick on him, more power to 'em.
