LOL, you've got that right. 29 days until the draft begins, I figure we're good for another five or six AD threads at least, and that doesn't even include mock drafts.
Charles Davis justified the players picked 1-31 in his analysis, and that other teams' needs percluded a DT, or AD specifically for whatever reason/s.
Since Seattle lost Red Bryant, AD is the perfect fit for a guy with a motor to a team with a motor
With Oakland @5 , Tampa @7, or MN @8 being the most likely landing spots. The tape doen't lie...all you see on tape is a guy dominating...despite the fact that he was the only player on his D...and faced constant double and triple teaming...I see Donald as a faster, stronger, quicker...Suh or Geno Atkins....forget complaints of size....he is the same size as Sapp or John Randle....if the Giants feel as strongly as I do...just like when the felt really strongly about Shockey the will need to trade up for this once in a decade player
Who was one of his biggest supporters said he should slip in the 20 - 30 range, also admitted that a top 10 pick would be too high for him, but on BBI, he is top 10, the tape don't lie. What a crock of bullshit.
the Ross Tucker podcast with Greg Cossel regarding Dline. Unfortunately, Tucker is so verbose that they didn't go through many prospects individually and spent most of the time talking about Chris Johnson and the lineman Tucker used to play against.
They did finally get to Donald and Tucker loves him and is surprised he isn't mentioned as a top 5 pick more often. Cossel agreed. Anyway, he also mentioned that DE's that can move inside are all the rage right now and in that vein he brought up Kony Ealy and Kareem Martin as players who fit that mold. He also said Hagemann is the most gifted of them all and will be very polarizing and Tuitt reminds him of Richard Seymour. He also mentioned Taylor Hart as a guy he really likes and that he sees Aaron Smith when he watches his tape.
The guy is a disruptive, play making player at a position that is incredibly hard to find one. It is hard to find DT that can get to the passer and he clearly can.
I think there is a larger separation between him and the next DT than there is at any other position.
Come draft day I think he goes before the Giants pick. It becomes very hard to pass on a DT with his ability come draft day

Good let's hope he goes before we pick. I don't want a damn DT in round 1 especially when we can add some of the offensive prospects that could be available.
An UDFA D Lineman will do it. Giant's did a great job building the secondary and upgrading the LB's so they don't have to stop the run and put pressure on the passer. What are you drinking? Please let me know because I want to hallucinate also.
I thought you were suggesting UDFA DL's. Just noticed you said Offensive players. Still, I don't agree. Look at the depth chart at DL. Pathetically thin. Get the DL fixed, then you go Offense IMHO.
a 4.68 forty, 7.11, 3cone , 35 reps and for 3 years in college put up the best numbers of all dt,s ,is going to go high in the draft. Somebody is going to fall in love with this guy.
Look at the offense. It's thin everywhere. They are the driving force for our success, and long term future of our team which is on the cusp of a big time change.
I said this on another thread. The coaching staff is on a 1 year deal. Below are the years when contracts expire.
Manning's contract ends AFTER the 2015 season
WR
Cruz - 2016
RR- 2015
JJ - 2014
MM - 2014
RB
Wilson -2015
TE
AR-2015
Everyone else 2014
If the offense sucks, and thus the whole team has a shitty year. It could mean big changes in dictating whether our coaches come back or not. Elis contract isn't getting restructured or extended because he is 33 right now. When it expires he will be 35 years old.
Look at the other positions above when they expire. You go offense NOW because you don't have a 2-3 rebuild plan. If by chance the offense fucks up and kills the season, the staff can get fired. If that happens I highly doubt we extend Eli. My guess to save face and respect Eli we let him play out his contract and Reese will "let him hit free agency since earned it." That's the polite way of saying thanks but no thanks.
The offense is on cusp of change. You don't fuck around by drafting a freaking DT. Save that shit for later. You go hard and upgrade this offense especially if there are offensive prospects you like on the board.
...you make very good points, but I disagree. You should pick the best player available in the first and every round especially when your roster is in the shape of the Giants right now. They need help everywhere. Now if you had the same grade on a DT, OT and WR at the pick; then sure pick a position of most need.

This phrase gets used much more often than once in a decade. Usually it's incorrect, though I hope for DOnald's sake it's true.
