Some recent chatter about Dominique Easley

GmenDynasty : 4/10/2014 9:42 am
I have heeard some buzz on him lately on a couple shows (one was the Schmeelk's Giants.com radio broadcast).

Supposedly at one time or another scouts had him rated pretty close to Clowney as one of the top DL prospects in the Nation. But injuries have severely derailed him and downgraded him.

What's the deal with this guy?

We know that Reese absolutely loves going for players who talent wise could have been much higher picks but are downgraded due to injury.

Webster,Terrel Thomas,Kiwi,Tuck etc.

Is Easly really that talented? Could this guy be a potential round 2 or 3 pick if we don't go Donald at 12?

Was an absolute beast @ Curtis High school ..Had a good career @ Florida but his injuries hurt him
He'll surprise you

At first glance and afte rlooking at his listed size, you can't imagine he would be anything more than a specialized pass rusher or 3-4 DE. But I think he is pretty close to what we saw out of Sharif Floyd last year. If it weren't for his injuries, he'd be right up there with every DT in this class outside of Donald.
I saw film of him from last year

He would be a nice fit and versatile player in 4-3 could play 3-4 DE
Tore both his knees

I feel bad for the kid but if he checks out healthy he would be an absolute steal in round 3. One of my favorites in this draft as a potential value pick. He definitely would have been a top 15 pick if he was healthy last year.

I would love this. Especially if we could nab a top wideout in Round 1. Then look for DE/OT/TE value to follow.

If it weren't for the knee injuries, he'd rank in the top 30 in this draft class.
don't know a thing about easley

but someone who has proven, solid connections w/the Giants believes 2 guys I haven't seen mentioned much - WR Odell Beckham and DT Ra'Shede Hageman - the Giants are very high on @12.

I would be absolutely livid if we signed any DT outside of Donald at 12 with all the other talent we'd be passing up. It is very rare I'd want a DT in round 1 too w/the learning curve and high bust rate...Donald though is an exception.
Hageman is a Chris Canty clone.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if JR likes him, but 12 is way too early for a guy who's still learning the game.
Maybe ur

Right about canty but the guy i heard him compared 2 was muhammad wilkerson who the giants were also very high on

player when healthy, but he's torn both ACLs, so no. We need a "clean" draft at least through the first four rounds IMO. No players with serious health issues, character problems, or those who need to change positions.

Better off with no Donald chatter. Don't want Chicago to jump ahead of the Giants.
