@RVacchianoNYDN: Josh Freeman may not be the only vet QB the Giants workout in the near future. They have also reached out to free agent QB Matt Flynn.
familiar w/BenM, and if bettter than Painter, a VETERAN backup. W/Freeman,maybe camp comp. as well.
Give RyanN a pass pro-temp to see if this new system helps him as well as Eli, before judging him as a wasted pick
this is what I was thinking too. The only difference is that we are looking at two vets rather than one, with the other being a UDFA or something. But it's entirely possible we will only sign one of the two vets.
if MacAdoo does not believe Eli will get it done. Eli has played so poorly for long stretches I don't any Giants fan should have comfortable feeling right now inclusive of system change. At some point you can't keep paying someone a million dollars for every pick they throw. You can pay less for that and try to win other ways.
Eli get familiar with the new system and run things in mini camp if Eli is out longer than expected. It can't hurt having a guy around that knows McAdoo.
Eli is done and Nassib was a bust and wasted pick.
Ughh, can't believe Matt Ryan or Josh Freeman will be our opening day QB...
Right. It can't possibly mean They need another QB for OTAs and to spell him in camp. It's clearly been decided that this unnamed unsigned QB will start opening day. You are a fucking imbecile.
all his posts are like that. I think he posts froma phone and it doesnt change the format when it comes onto the internet. Pretty sure the Haiku form is unintentional.
Buffale has EJ Manuel... if they wanted Nassib they could have drafted him last year.. his college coach passed on him
Sure, they preferred Manuel to Nassib, but it doesn't mean they didn't like Nassib. And maybe now for the price of moving down three spots in round one they can have both of them.
The Redskins preferred RG3 to Kirk Cousins in 2012, but it didn't stop them from drafting Cousins in round four of the same draft.
It was once normal protocol to groom a young quarterback. Now it seems if the guy isn't ready to jump in and start his first year he must suck. I don't get it. The Giants have no need to rush Nasib. How any of you can judge his quality or the decision to draft him at this stage in his career is really beyond me. Rodgers was a backup for three years before getting the starting job.
I guess some people here have long term memory loss. Michael Strahan, Amani Toomer, Osi Umenyiora, Eli, Tuck, Webster, Seubert, Tiki Barber, Linval Joseph, Mario Manningham, Victor Cruz, etc did little to nothing during their first year and how did they turn out?
Nassib cost enough and has been around long enough to step in if Eli can't play. So why all the interest in others QBs? Because Reese screwed up on the Nassib choice.

Really, If McAdoo believes Eli might not be able to get it done! Please as bad as Eli was last year, what makes you honestly believe that he will NOT be able to get the job done in this new offense???

Let's see the Giants always bring 4 QB's to camp and how many do they currently have? 3 so they will be adding one more and obviously prefer a veteran since Eli is out at least 6 weeks. This says nothing about how they feel about Nassib.
Nassib showed a lot of promise in college. Some of you sit and here and act like it's easy to pick talent and you just knew all along that nassib would underwhelm. Guess what? You don't know jack shit and it's way too early to stick the chest out and say I told you so. The guy's career hasn't even started to ferment yet, he's in the infancy stages. Maybe it was a in desert risk but my god we are talking about two mid to late round picks! And still you guys crush this move as if it set the org back ten years.
Let it unfold man... And at least recognize why they went after a legit collegiate QB. It's called low risk high reward. And a 4th and 6th is just that, low risk.
BBI is losing its collective mind. I don't like to hear that Eli hd surgery and won't run until 6 weeks from now, but holy crap. He will be able to study the play book. Its not like he had eye surgery. I will freak a little more if he misses training camp. Being in Matt Flynn and cut Painter during training camp.

I'm sad that there are Giants fans that actually have this mentality...I hope this is a joke, but it doesn't seem like it...two years removed from being a Super Bowl MVP..
Eli was not good last year, but he had a deplorable O Line, barely any kind of a run game other than when Brown came back, a top WR who dogged it all season, a good for nothing Tight End.....some of you are really amazing
QB friendly than it was before, and watch Eli "improve". The QB is not the problem on this team. The engine of every offense is it's OL. Draft Zach Martin and Travis Swanson this year (and another OL high next year), and then watch how much things improve between 2014 and 2015. Patience is a virtue mongos.
For those who remember the 80's. We need an Eric Moore, jumbo Elliott type of draft in 1/2. That draft anchored 2 of the 5 spots on our OL for 10 years. Moore was susposed to be the left tackle but Jumbo turned out better and the picked Moore inside to guard for his duration. Nothing flashy but got the job done. Where is George Young when you need him?

What is there to get into a tizzy about?

I think
Clowney, Robinson, Mathews, Mack, Watkins and 3 QBs will be gone.
Target could be (Evans)ahead of TN and DET.
or one of the OTs (Lewan)or possibly Barr.
um.. Buffale has EJ Manuel... if they wanted Nassib they could have drafted him last year.. his college coach passed on him..
However, the only way Eli plays poorly in 2014 is if the rest of the team is a joke (OL, TE, etc) like last year.........

Matt Ryan didn't do so well last year due to injuries, but had a superb 2012 regular and post season.
I don't think you should count him out so soon.
