NFT: TB Lightning's Ryan Malone Arrested: DUI/Cocaine

pganut : 4/12/2014 12:07 pm
From ESPN/AP:

Tampa Bay Lightning left wing Ryan Malone was arrested early Saturday morning on charges of driving under the influence and possession of cocaine.

Ryan Malone won't play for the Lightning Sunday after being arrested on charges of driving under the influence and possession of cocaine.

Malone, 34, was arrested at 5:40 a.m. ET in Tampa and was released on $2,500 bond, according to an arrest report from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. Jail records didn't show whether he had an attorney.

Tampa Police Lt. Paul Lusczynski says Malone's breath smelled like alcohol when he was stopped by an officer early Saturday. According to a police report, the officer also found 1.3 grams of cocaine in one of Malone's pockets.

Lusczynski says Malone refused to take field sobriety tests, but a breath test given at the jail recorded blood alcohol levels of 0.112 and 0.116 percent. Florida law considers a driver impaired at 0.08

He won't play in the season finale. It may be that he needs some help, but as with all pro athletes...JFC, call the cab service that the league provides you if you're going to think about getting behind the wheel. And if you're gonna partake in las drogas, you have to know it's going to catch up with you. Sucks to let your teammates down like that. Full article linked below.

If you wanna get drunk and blow lines, whatever. Live your own life. But when you make millions of dollars? How hard is it to call a private car service? Idiot
In NYC it's a little easier public transportation

is all over the place at all hours of the night. For a guy like him, there is no excuse. Between Bishops injury and his distraction the Lightning are gonna have their work cut-out for them facing the Habs in the 1st round.
Public transportation
Big Rick in FL : 4/12/2014 10:57 pm : link
Is basically non existent in Tampa compared to New York, but obviously we have taxis and things like Uber. So yes you can you use the no public transportation excuse, but it is still available if you really don't want to drive. Everytime I go to the bar we use Uber. Also the NHL supposedly offers a car service for these guys.

I don't care about the coke at all. He can do whatever he wants. Also coke doesn't really impair your driving in my experience(s) with it. The drinking and driving is unexecusable IMO. I have drove drunk when I was 17-18 and it was the most dumb thing I have ever done. Would never do it again.
mind blowingly stupid
