Nobody knows what, if any, role that played in his injury. But I don't think we can say with certainty that it was just "bad luck." As the saying goes, luck is the residue of design.
Plus, even if Parnell did not blow out the elbow, you can't really count on a guy coming off neck surgery and have no adequate backup plan.

I read the whole post. How can you say that he has no eye for baseball talent and then also say he has done a fine job of straightening them out? Truth is, Sandy has done a pretty bad job here with the Mets.
