I am starting this thread early to get the ball rolling, but the clock will NOT officially start until
Thursday, April 17th at 9am. The draft will run from 9am to 6pm Monday through Friday until the start of the NFL Draft (Thursday, May 8th) or the completion of the 5th round. Please remember to use the DISCUSSION thread so we can keep this thread uncluttered.
Once a team is on the clock, they will have two hours to make a selection. If a team goes on the clock after 4pm, their two hour window will roll over to the next day. For example, if you go on the clock at 4:30pm, you will have until 9:30 am to make a selection. Picks may be made between 6pm and 9am if GMs are online and following the draft thread. The time limit only applies during the 9am to 6pm time frame. If the two hour time limit expires, I will make a pick using any list that the GM for the team has sent me in advance (send lists to the email address in my profile) or in the absence of a list, I will use the
GBN Big Board with a little discretion so as not make an obvious dumb pick (ie: Indianapolis Colts won’t be taking a QB in the 1st round this year). If a GM misses two consecutive picks without providing a prospect list or making some form of contact with me (email or posting on the draft thread) Saos1n and Yatqb will have priority to fill the vacancy. Otherwise, the spot will be reassigned to one of the BBIers that didn't get into the draft but were active in the draft discussion thread.
I have saved the GBN Big Board as of 4/2 in a
Google Document. Once again, we will have a
Google Spreadsheet. The spreadsheet contains the draft order (RD1-5) by team (and GM) and a list of both available and taken prospects based on the GBN Big Board (as well as several other prospects that did not make the GBN Big Board). I will try to keep the spreadsheet and thread updated as often as possible.

72. Minnesota (Jay in Saratoga)
Jay missed his last pick so maybe someone can send out the bat signal early
Still, we'll wait the 2 hours. Jay doesn't have a history of missing picks (prior to this year). But if it comes to it, Mettenberger will be the autodraft pick (still lots of time though).
I think its time that Jay provide Matt his email address (if he hasn't already).
Two of the next 3 teams sent boards and we are through more than 2 rounds with a little under 3 weeks prior to the draft and the threads were only started about a week ago. Even though it usually slows down at this point even waiting 2 hours for Jay to show we are still likely to be finished by the end of next week
2 picks coming as Kevin provided a board...
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Zach Mettenberger, QB, LSU
Hugely talented back who has had a few off the field issues but coaches think he's a good kid. Big, strong back with good hands, very quick for his size and great for Shanahan's zone scheme as a 1-cut and go type rb. We had him ahead of Hyde on our board.
Carl Bradford had 39.5 TFL and 20 Sacks in his Sophomore & Junior seasons before deciding to declare for the draft early. He lacks size & has a small frame, but he has speed, strength and makes up for his shortcomings with his high football IQ. He was used as a hybrid DE/OLB in college, but we want him to hone his OLB skills.
While Bradford will be used as a situational pass rusher, he will also need to be able to play a more traditional OLB as well in order to be truly effective. He wasn’t lost in coverage, but he wasn’t asked to drop back into coverage very often and this will change at the next level. Luckily, we have a year to further develop his skills, using him situationally behind Rivers & Spikes on his 1 year “Prove It” deal.
He is football smart, talented and beelines to the ball. He sniffs out screens and is simply an all around playmaker. Great instincts, athleticism and great tackling ability. We are thrilled that Bradford is still available.
Bruce Ellington/WR/South Carolina
I will let Pete post the image, but he is probably not happy that Richardson went one pick before him

Phillip Gaines, CB, Rice
If we are skipping Lionhart, can I go ahead with my selection? Hehe.
This dude is everything I want in a QB except tall. He started over 50 games in the SEC. He is very smart, a good leader, accurate passer from a pro-style offense but he is 6'0 tall. However, he excellent arm strength and can make all of the NFL throws. The Browns had nothing in the QB cupboard prior to the draft so taking 2 QBs is not that crazy. Supposedly Murray is really picking up steam lately and looked good at his pro-day even while recovering from an ACL tear. Absolutely love this kid and he think he will definitely be an NFL starter.
