We will use this thread as a discussion thread to keep the picks thread uncluttered. These threads will be used for the duration of the entire draft and will need to be bumped occasionally to push them back to page 1 of the forum.
Once a team is on the clock, they will have two hours to make a selection. If a team goes on the clock after 4pm, their two hour window will roll over to the next day. For example, if you go on the clock at 4:30pm, you will have until 9:30 am to make a selection. Picks may be made between 6pm and 9am if GMs are online and following the draft thread. The time limit only applies during the 9am to 6pm time frame. If the two hour time limit expires, I will make a pick using any list that the GM for the team has sent me in advance (send lists to the email address in my profile) or in the absence of a list, I will use the
GBN Big Board with a little discretion so as not make an obvious dumb pick (ie: Indianapolis Colts won’t be taking a QB in the 1st round this year). If a GM misses two consecutive picks without providing a prospect list or making some form of contact with me (email or posting on the draft thread) Saos1n and Yatqb will have priority to fill the vacancy. Otherwise, the spot will be reassigned to one of the BBIers that didn't get into the draft but were active in this thread.
I have saved the GBN Big Board as of 4/2 in a
Google Document. Once again, we will have a
Google Spreadsheet. The spreadsheet contains the draft order (RD1-5) by team (and GM) and a list of both available and taken prospects based on the GBN Big Board (as well as several other prospects that did not make the GBN Big Board). I will try to keep the spreadsheet and thread updates as often as possible.
(That's what she said.)
1st. Ryan Shazier, LB, Ohio State
2nd. Donte Moncrief, WR, Ole Miss
3rd.a. Terrence Brooks, FS, Florida State
3rd.b. Daniel McCullers, NT, Tennessee
4th. Camerson Fleming, OT/OG, Stanford
5th.a. Tyler Larsen, C, Utah State
5th.b. Anthony Steen, OG, Alabama
6th. Jake Murphy, TE, Utah
I think I got a little carried away with picking players for GB's o-line. The Pack has been having a lot of trouble over the last couple years retaining o-linemen and keeping them healthy. Adding to the depth seemed a priority to me.
I think my favorite picks are Terrence Brooks and Cameron Fleming. I got them both later than predicted by the internet prognosticators. They represent really good value IMHO.
Until next year.
I agree... If he would have ran in the 4.45 range and jumped 37 inches he would have been a first rounder for sure.. I am hoping he slips like Keenan Allen who was hurt and couldn't work out to his best last year. 3rd would be a great pick for Landry
Only 1 Badger, so I give it a B.
Seattle (English Alaister), on the other hand, I'm only going to wait about 10-15 mins... After four consecutive missed picks, I think he is going to need a co-GM if he plans to partcipate next year...
Played LT in college but projects to RT or guard in the NFL.
Nothing bad to say about this guy.

Figures you take 2 Wisconsin guys here. Is Groy your next pick? Though to be fair he is one of my top OL prospects left
...Get ready to leave bitches.
One step at a time, gentleman... We will be at 7RDs soon enough ;o)

We didn't have players rated closely at the same position like last year at Center. This year only ILB Borland and ILB Khari Fortt that I can think of and we all know Borland isn't half the player Fortt is.

What about Rodgers and Pederson at TE?

Ok but I am counting them as my picks... I am tired of having half or less of the picks of everyone else! How can my drafts ever be any good even when I do select a Geno Atkins.
Tick-tock, Mr. Rooney... Tick tock...
Talented... quick... perfect build... works out hard... and unfortunately soft. He was Cal's leading tackler before getting hurt.
1st - QB Johnny Manziel Texas A&M
2nd - DT Dominique Easley Florida
3rd - DE Marcus Smith Louisville
4th - RB/WR/KR De'Anthony Thomas Oregon
7th - WR TJ Jones Notre Dame
7th - DT Jay Bromley Syracuse
7th - RB Henry Josey Missouri
Thanks for all the hard work everyone!
QB - Bryn Renner (North Carolina), Keith Wenning (Ball State)
RB - Lorenzo Taliaferro (Coastal Carolina)
WR - John Brown (Pittsburg State), Jeff Janis (Saginaw Valley State), Chandler Jones (San Jose State)
TE - Richard Rodgers (California), Blake Annen (Cincinnati)
OL - Charles Leno (Boise State)
DL - Ethan Westbrooks (West Texas A&M), Zack Kerr (Delaware), Jay Bromley (Syracuse)
LB - Avery Williamson (Kentucky), Howard Jones (Shepherd)
CB - Shaquille Richardson (Arizona)
S - Alden Darby (Arizona State), Kenny Ladler (Vanderbilt)

Jay Bromley was selected by the Raiders... I would also throw in RB Marion Grice ASU, WR Cody Hoffman BYU, Kam Jackson from Cal, RB Tim Cornett UNLV, WR L'Damien Washington Missouri, and TE Eric Waters Missouri.
2. Kirby Van Der Kamp, P, Iowa State
DT Jay Bromley Syracuse... Ran a 5.03 and benched 26 times at 306lbs. Quick off the snap for a guy over 300lbs. Was hitting gaps very nicely and splitting double teams. Didn't just pad stats against weak teams getting 2 sacks against Clemson, 1 against Florida State, and 1 in his bowl game. Had 10 sacks on the year. Not as strong against the run, but in the 7th a great value get here.
RB Henry Josey Missouri... Not the biggest guy, but one of the most explosive. He was a lightning as a SO in 9 games 2011 before suffering a nasty horrible injury in his 10th game. He missed all of 2012, but came back in 2013 with a bang. 174 carries 1166 yards and 16 TDs averaging 6.7 yards a carry which is lower than his 8.1 he averaged in his 145 carried 1168 yard 9 game Sophomore year. He is extremely fast and I don't think back to where he was or where he could be. He ran a 4.43 at the combine which is amazing. Also in 184 touches he has in 2013 zero fumbles! Love this kid and the way him came back from what many thought could be career ending.

lol....not even gonna go there.
And just since we're keeping tabs on the situation, Frederick had a hell of a rookie year.

Of course I was joking about Fortt... He was called out so many times for being soft. Borland is the complete opposite and of course the much better player. I still think Fortt has a ton of talent though... To bad I wouldn't draft him unless I convinced he was passionate about what it takes to play football.
Frederick did play very well... Just like to point out that Schwenke was very good also when he wasn't hurt. Frederick was picked in the 1st while Schwenke was picked in the 4th... Value wise Schwenke was better!
