Joel Sherman's column suggests that an increase in injuries, and in the length of time it takes to recover from them, may be attributable to a decline in PED use. It's an interesting argument. He looks at injury statistics for DL stints and days lost. I'm not sure there is as much of a statistical correlation as he supposes, the numbers have yo-yoed a little bit by year and the spike in TJS isn't, or at least doesn't seem to be, attributable to a decline in PEDs. But it's an interesting argument, it does seem that recovery times in baseball have gotten longer even as those in other sports (football for instance) have gotten smaller for many injuries.

Has there been a significant decline in practice time for baseball players?

One has nothing to do with the other. The game of baseball is still played at a high level while we're watching preseason football as late as October. There aren't any more injuries in baseball as I see it. Meanwhile, football is a mess
Epic fail - I'll blame it on my lack of espresso this morning.
My bad lol
