the bottle the wine came from was infront of her.
I doubt Sansa did it, that would have required a plan and planning requires thinking and Sansa is incapable of thinking because she's a fucking waterhead.
That this is the "no spoilers" iteration. If I am incorrect someone please say so and I'll be gone.
Jg - I was arguing with my brother in law last night about this. I was initially adamant that it was the wine. He noted the shot of the pie dripping on the floor and made me re-watch that scene...I'm now convinced it was the pie.
I don't think it was the Red Viper that was responsible, but I am eager to see if he causes some havoc in short order now that things will be in a state of flux.
Glad to see Joffrey fall, but I'm slightly disappointed because I had envisioned someone beating the living daylights out of him.
Joffrey's wife was more than ready to completely put Cersei in the corner and be a real queen, which would have put the Lannisters firmly behind House Tyrell in the power rankings.
Kill one awful son in exchange for Tommen the Harmless, the Lannisters stay in power with Tywin as the Hand, but really the King, and Cersei as Queen Regent.
Not spoilers, I haven't read the book.
Though, honestly, who didn't have reason to want to kill Joffrey?
The "fool" who pulled Sansa away obviously had something
to do with it. When he told her to go with him it was like he knew it was going to happen and was waiting there to pull her away. I don't see him concocting any plans with Cercei.
I don't think it was anyone at that table. They all looked completely taken by surprise. And this show doesn't make things that easy either.
in the whole series who likes Joffery is Cersei. And killing Joffery means that the Lannisters have a weaker claim to the throne than before, not stronger.
Just my .02
Killing Jofffrey means the Tyrells don't have half the throne
but the means certainly did not. If she wanted to poison Joff, she could've done it at literally any other meal he's eaten without making such an enormous public scene of it. Just invite the person you want to frame to dine with them, make arrange a distraction, and get a dead son without all the embarrassment to her family. (Or, you know, send him boar hunting with a skin full of brandy...)
Someone in here got it...not gonna say who, but its here...
They're kind of stuck, being that the story is so vast and often self referential they need to remind viewers with those recaps. At the same time, if you watch the last 2 recaps it becomes very obvious who was pulling the strings.
I peaked in the book thread out of curiosity to find out who it might
read this thread because there was no spiler warning in the OP. But this season has started out tremendously. Lots of action from the start w/ Arya getting revenge & now The King dying. I enjoy the so called "slow" episodes as wel, but this has been a lot of fun already.
I must say as much as I enjoyed watching him die, I will miss the Joffrey character. He was great to hate and the actor was fantastic. Great show, great episode, great job all around. I'm guessing his brother will take the throne & Cersei will re-take the role of Queen regent???
This is the no spoilers version, but as always some people who know the outcomes can't resist the giddiness associated with giving veiled hints or giving unsolicited "hot or cold" responses to peoples speculation.
It's one of the things about this place that I just can't wrap my mind around.

On one hand, couldnt wait for the prick to die but on the other hand, we lise another great character. Now I only care about Arya and Tyrion. Im sure we'll get more characters but will I care as much as I did about the Starks or King Joff?
Taking about the actual episode and hints left in it is not discussing spoilers. People watch the show, then they talk about it. If thats annoying or obnoxious to you the solution seems pretty simple.
The posts like "someone in here got it" are completely obnoxious and unnecessary.
I can fully appreciate that it would be interesting to lurk and see the reactions of people learning this stuff in real time.
However I can't see how making a post like that benefits anyone or even benefits you. I think people have made it clear over time that they'd prefer not to have any of that kind of shit.
Your allusion to the idea that maybe I should just stay away altogether isn't without some merit. However it doesn't make what you do in these non-spoiler / "non-book-reader" threads any less pathetic.
and you're gonna whine because someone said "One of you got it". That's "pathetic"? Jesus H, stop taking yourself so seriously. If you don't shut up and quit crying I'll post the whole goddamn story and give you a reason to bitch.
Yes, again, I'm joking. You picking up a theme here about chilling the fuck out?
Just know that the audience for which this iteration of the discussion is intended really just wishes you would go away and keep it in the other thread. If you don't believe that, I just don't know what else to say.
But obviously you will do as you please. That is certainly your right. So have fun.
you guys are completely wrong and this isn't an agree to disagree situation.
One of the best parts of this show is that it isn't predictable and formulaic. I feel like anything can happen. Now you have gone and said that one of the things I have read in this thread is the truth.
That's really annoying, instead of it being open ended now there are a list of theories from this thread (not as long as the one I have even populated in my head)
Basically you have stymied my imagination, and for what? What was the purpose in saying someone got it? Pretty much just drawing attention to yourself, congratulations, mission accomplished. Now go play soothsayer somewhere else.
And that doesn't even start with the lame hint you gave
that yes, also gives something away. It's not always the person that benefits the most that is to blame, especially not in this show of blurred lines and backstabbing. Sometimes its the person with the most guts that does it not just the person who stands to gain the most or lose the least. So again, yes, you are an attention seeking inconsiderate person.
I remember how enjoyable it was to try to figure out what happened and who could have been behind it and just generally to read how events unfolded subsequently without anyone spoiling or hinting anything for me. I think it's pretty bush league to take that away from the TV-only viewers.
is what the book readers got when they read the series. Would book readers have been disappointed to learn half-way though book 1 that Eddard Stark would be beheaded for treason ?
Show watchers want to see the story unfold as intended, with the drama and suspense being built along the way.

If a number of people don't want you to post book-inspired hints in this thread, why would you? What's the benefit?
Who revealed anything, let alone something as big as Neds death?
People have their ideas. They want to discuss them. I said one of them is right. If that's annoying or obnoxious to you then I don't know what to say other than to guess you're easily irritated.
And Christ Peej, are you auditioning for a role? "All we want is to see the story unfold as it was intended!". And who exactly is preventing you from doing that? If all you're interested in is watching the show unfold as it was intended why are you on the internet seeking out discussions and others opinions of it, which will surely influence your perception and *gasp* maybe even cause you to view something NOT as Martin intended.
Its a underrated, people were talking about their ideas. If anything was truly spoiled then sure, I would be sorry. Not trying to rain on anyone's parade. But some of you take this "spoiler" nonsense too far.
and I wouldn't hint at anything in these threads. Fun to see all the reactions on here and I'll only speak to facts already brought up in the show. Saying "X" happened differently in the book is still a giveaway (a huge problem on the Walking Dead "non-spoiler" threads).
but I think there's a big difference between "So and so killed so and so" and "Of all the guesses as to who killed so and so, someone guessed correctly"
No need for this to go on, just delete my comments.

go fuck yourself?
like when you post spoilers
INSTANT GRATIFICATION.
But that would make everyone a suspect, lol

It's pretty fucking obnoxious, to be honest.
And it was Snape! He did it
Plus it really did look like she waved her hand over the cup before giving it back to tyrion.

Posited: If enjoyment of some piece of media can be "spoiled" by advance knowledge of the outcome, it wasn't very good to begin with.
(Spoiler: Romeo and Juliet both end up dead!)
But obviously you will do as you please. That is certainly your right. So have fun.
It's nothing personal.

What you are doing is exactly what the thread is here for, in my opinion.
