Drunk and in the bathroom splashing water on my stressed out terrified face and Petty was performing "running down a dream" and I remember thinking what a perfect metaphor for this very moment. We most definitely were running down a dream. I kind of beloved we were gonna win right there.
I remember thinking, if he starts this set with "American Girl," we're gonna win. And sure enough he did. Some of the funny things you remember during those great experiences.
I get nervous everytime I watch it. Best game I have ever seen. Too young for the first 2 Super Bowls. Cried myself to sleep after SB 35. Super Bowl 42 made up for that and more. Cried tears of joy after the game.
you and me both. Except for crying myself to sleep, I was still in college at the time so I went out and got extremely drunk. One of the best days of my life haha
Unfortunately I couldn't get drunk yet. After 42 I smoked the fattest blunt I've ever seen and then had a nice Cuban cigar and some vodka shots to celebrate.
Watched 42 with my buddy who is a Pats fan and another one who is an Eagles fan. That made it so much better. The Pats fan just walked out of my house. Didn't say bye to anybody.

Also "I won't back down."
All The Giants SB Wins Have Been Great For Different Reasons
1) SBXXI - First Giants Super - Special
2) SBXXV - Outstanding coaching effort; Gulf War I, last minute FB miss.
3) SBXLII - Defeating an 18-0 "Best Team Ever".
4) SBXLVI - Even more improbable run than SBXLII
but after the passage of time, SBXLII and the defeat of an 18-0 team is probably going to be the Giants Number 1 Super Bowl, especially among non-Giants fans.
I let Tyree know he can catch the ball against his helmet. I make sure that Steve Smith knows he should get a first down with less than a minute to play. I had been telling Plaxico Burris all game that he was not going to catch another ball after that first catch until the winning td with 35 seconds left.
I scream with delight after all those plays. And since the last one is a touchdown, I give my wife a big KISS.
how crazy was that with BJ giving that extra umph to get the first down!!! obviously, the game is over without that conversion. although, he really made that yard look as hard as he possibly could....i think u was a little nervous on that play....spaghetti legs...he just feel forward...no contact at all lol

alford's sack of brady was amazing in its violence...too bad he was never able to perform at that high level consistently
there were so many "inches" plays that could have swung the game in a different direction: the manning to a wide open burress that would have been a td if plax didn't hesitate or manning took a bit off the ball; the jacobs 4th and 1; the samuel dropped INT; the smith catch and run for a first down; tyree just barely hanging on to the ball during the helmet catch; brady's heave at the end to moss that if it was just a bit further may have resulted in a pats winning td or field goal/tie game.
I watched the last few minutes as well and kind of shook
Where have we heard that before in Eli's career?
wow
Also, Tom Petty doing Won't Back Down was also solid choice
There should be a rule that the defense can concede in that situation.

it was so enjoyable!

"But honey, it's in HD!"
Give you two guesses what I had to do.....
Pussy.

I know he had to make something happen on that drive, but man there were a lot of close plays that could have just ended it...
Dont leave those out.. peoiple tend to focus on what Eli did but Brady was slingin it with near misses too...
Nevertheless, the nicest pass of the game was Eli's last one to Plax. A perfect spiral that had no chance of being defended.
Harrison was inside his jersey.
I think Tyree only makes that catch one time in a hundred.

My recollection was that Tyree was wide open when Eli threw the ball but only as the ball reached him did Harrison come into play.
It's been a while though.
