I have to say that the product has been very good over the past few weeks.
I think there will be an Ultimate Warrior tribute of some sort tonight since not everyone has the network.
I think with or without the Undertaker addressing the crowd tonight Sting may finally make his appearance(he started in the business with Warrior)
Looking forward to the revolution reunion angel.
I really think that WWE is finally in a really great spot. The network needs a few thousand more subscribers, but I think they will come as the product begins to evolve more and more with established younger stars. For years WWE relied on names from the past who were over the hill. But now with the young influx they have (all primarily from nXt) they have the opportunity to maximize on these young guys instead of 45-year olds. I think a guy like CM Punk knew his window was closing to headline PPV's because of young stars like Reigns, Ambrose, Rollins, Big E, Barrett, Cesaro, Wyatt are all breathing down their necks for the main event spots. Hell even Ziggler, Kofi, Swagger, the Uso's and are all young enough to put it all together and make themselves main event guys.
Hate him or lvoe him Triple H has a very good mind for the business and has been in creative meetings even before he married Stephanie..
The problem still is at the Raw/Smackdown level. They get it right at NXT. The writing at the upper level is still sucky and questionable.
It looks like they're committed to the young guys now, but when they stick questionable storylines and gimmicks on them and expect a return of investment, and these kids don't get over right away, how fast will they pull the plug?
I already don't like what they did with Paige. It's the complete opposite of what made her stand out at NXT. That wasn't her character at all.
If this is true, which I hope, the company is in very good hands.
WM XXX was fantastic
Alas
Warrior's death was caused by a heart attack related to "Atherosclerotic/Arteriosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease" (heart disease).
Warrior's death was classified as "natural" - meaning that neither drugs nor alcohol were directly involved.
Ugh. Bo Dallas is garbage.
It's the gimmick, lol. He has a punchable face.
I'd be fearful of the business part though, without Vince. Neither of them are qualified and there has already been talk about potential future CEOs and none of them know a thing about wrestling.
Which is fine, if they leave Triple H and Stephanie on their own to run wrestling, and vice versa. Will that happen though?

i have followed him since he started in FCW and has become a really good worker and his mic skills have gotten alot better .If his gimmick now is getting you to hate him than its working lol

He also looks like a chick
If that's what your grandmother looks like, give her my number.

The big problem is that the older guys on the roster have no where to go. They don't really want to cut bate with anyone because they don't want to feed a competitor since they have all but squashed TNA.
I don't know what killed them, but the product didn't seem so awful.
link - ( New Window )
yes him and brie bella got married
Why those guys are still working, especially Rey, confounds me. They've done pretty well for themselves.
I think everyone thought that, but Vince opted to give a lot of the business to Stephanie. And then HHH. Shane went away to make a name for himself in business separate from WWE, which he did. Now he's got a couple of kids.
I don't know what killed them, but the product didn't seem so awful.
And there's a lot of talent on the roster. The booking and writing is nothing short of awful. Great talent, but terrible direction.
I might see you there. I'm also intrigued. When do tickets go on sale?
Austin Aries FTW
A reader of PWTorch spoke with DirecTV, who said they might change their policy of not carrying WWE PPVs "at any time."
WWE issued this short statement: "Yes, DIRECTV has decided to stop offering our PPV's residentially and commercially. The only other option would be to work through the local cable provider."
To watch WWE's monthly "special events" going forward you can purchase the WWE Network for a $9.99 monthly subscription with a six month commitment.
yes it was.
I'm talking about guys like Cena and Orton. They aren't over the hill yet, but they have grown stale and old in a mental sense.
Vince learned from the last time around and instead of letting the old talent go and help another brand, its better for him to keep them, but then you get these terrible stale matches that have been there done that which stalls the new talent from keeping everything fresh.
It's going to continue to go this way until they have an actual competitor.
I missed the first few minutes of Raw
it's online already

Jesus, that was quick. Thanks!
Why?
As opposed to uninspired, boring wrestling that we get 99% of the time? The chants fuel the wrestlers. They said it after the Raw of the New Jersey Wrestlemania. Everyone performs better when the crowd is involved.
Crowds are as entertaining, if not more, than the matches themselves.
So what would you prefer they do?
You want them to say that during a tribute? Come on.
I do now....gone way overboard.
RVD missed Del Rio by about 8 feet.
Alicia Fox is hotter, IMO.
Not a bad Divas match

Why would the crowd chant "you fucked up"??

Oh okay... Thought it was something in the tribute.
Love the IC title tournament. I'm hoping Cesaro wins and we get a good Cesaro vs Swagger fued for IC title. I'm ready to see the IC belt back to legitimacy.
I agree. Stick me between Paige and AJ and I'd die happy
Oh she's definitely a hottie, but I like the Fox. Layla is probably #1 and interestingly enough. I'm pretty sure she's the oldest diva (not counting Vickie). Layla, Fox, AJ (although who knows what kinds of diseases she picked up from Punk), Lana, Summer Rae...
Only that extremely talented, extremely entertaining, extremely not-phony John Cena
As said in his Sterling Archer voice...
Well, he was a weightlifter at the Olympics

Cool. I did not know that.
#RAW
Hahaahahaha
She's a key part of Total Divas, which is actually a moderate success for E!
WWE won't part with anyone that even has Z- list mainstream/pop culture presence.
yes we know Anakim. Let it go.
Just like the Rock ;)
Roid freaks.

She can't wrestle worth a shit, she's going to get one of the divas hurt sooner or later
This crowd is beyond terrible too.

I just find Paige to be that adorably cute type of hot and that is my favorite type.

Oh, I totally get it. I think Paige is a hottie also
Two years in a row now, the post WM Raw is nothing but a cater job to the internet fanbase. Next week comes, bang, right back to normal. Boring, poorly booked, dead crowd, all around crap.
Holy fuck. It's the gimmick destruction I mentioned weeks ago.
We're two weeks from IRS and Husky Harris references with John Cena's smug wink-nod.

Can't expect much from a crowd in Alabama. The show was booked as such.
We all know WWE books shows based on location. They made sure to bring it in Chicago, Brooklyn and the night after RAW extra or else the crowd would shit on the show.
Other places, they can get away with a "C level" show because the people in the crowd are just happy to have WWE in their town. In Birmingham, it's like the circus arriving.
The next two weeks they will be in Baltimore and St. Louis. Not a spot for hot crowds. I would expect more of the same booking you saw tonight before the PPV at Izod Center.
Haahaha exactly like oblivious 8th grade girl music fan. I hope there are more of those where that came from

Baltimore and STL could have decent wrestling crowds. STL has its smarks and a history of big matches and Baltimore is in the I-95 corridor
My post from the WMXXX thread right after Cena beat him.

I dont see them doing 4 PPVs. I think Bray wins this time. Then hopefully after the next PPV, they feud with the Shield, causing the Shield to split so Reigns will get his push.

and win the payoff at Summer Slam...they gave Cena his WM win to appease him so he will put over Wyatt...

The SHield will be facing Evolution for awhile in my opinion...i think its going to be their big summmer angle...
everyone keeps prediction Ambrose and Rollins will turn on Reigns but i think its going to be opposite...I think HHH Batista and Orton try and recruit Reigns to be their 4th guy and the protege of the group..
You can make silly jokes like Rock calling Big Show a 500 pound bag of monkey crap because that's not an insult that's illuminating out the falsity that is pro wrestling. Call Bray a fat false cult leader that no one should listen to because he sounds crazy. That keeps the gimmick alive and still achieves the "face insults heel" goal.
The only way to salvage the promo is to have Cena "lose his smile" after getting his shit wrecked by Bray, and stop making jokes and be sad, and that's not going to happen because Cena.
But he's not menacing or condescending in his insults and there's no intensity. He's smiling and laughing and playing it up, presenting the material as if he's doing a Leno impersonation during open mic at Yuk Yuks, instead of insulting someone he wants to beat.
At least through his 45 "Brothers" Hogan would make the opponent legit. Same with Austin and Rock. Even the Mr. McMahon character while running down Austin on the mic would tell you it's because Austin is a threat to his company.
Cena is the same guy who called someone (I think it was Punk) a few years ago a "poopeyhead". What's really amazing is how well he hides it. Fact is Cena is not some head and shoulders above everyone on the midcard mic worker. In terms of mic work, in my opinion, he is on par with a lot of midcard guys who people commonly accept as poor mic workers. When he decides it's time to be "serious" it's either a low monotone voice or high pitched screaming. Rest of the time it's jokes. And whenever someone calls him out on that, he has to resort to breaking kayfabe and the 4th wall. Which he has done with Rock, Jericho, Punk, HHH, Lesnar, and now Wyatt.
Instead what does Cena do? he gets up like nothing happened and starts talking to the camera like nothing happened..it was a disgrace...
he is one of the worst sellers in WWE and one of the worst Story tellers...he is a cartoon character..
Even though we all know that kayfabe is what it is, for the product to work, gimmicks ought to be treated as they were before the wall came down.
We know it's a story. They know we know it's a story, but they don't have to acknowledge that.
It'd be like Bruce Willis saying, "You're not a terrorist, Hans! You're just pretending to be one."
Wrestling works best with the fourth wall intact. And that includes the idiots in the crowd for the most part.
The Authority angle keeping Daniel Bryan down? Perfect.
Edge/Matt Hardy using a real life issue between them in story? Perfect.
Breaking the wall to expose the falsehoods of the storyline, like Cena did with Wyatt or previously did with Del Rio ("you're not rich you don't own cars lol you" said to the guy whose gimmick is rich heel) is just demolishing the whole damn house.
It makes the opponent look terrible, and it makes Cena look good because of the devaluation of his opponent, rather than Cena earning standing.
Every ROH show in New York is chock full of these singular sorts of assholes, shouting nonsensical irrelevant wrestling names or moves or jokes or catchphrases to demonstrate the depth of their knowledge.
It's the sweaty ponytail-sporting fat neckbeard mating call.
Barrett is getting a pretty big push now. Obviously Cesaro is going to be the favorite, but I wouldnt be shocked to see Barrett be a serious contender at MIB.
I like Cesaro, Barrett, Ziggler, and Langston in that division. They should all be kept strong.
