Obviously, they could have had a heck of a team with better drafts. I'm so happy that's not the Giants name showing misses on Fitzgerald, Megatron, and Rodgers. Could you imagine?
and hayden (last year's 1st round reach) are on their roster and mcfadden barely is.. was long thought to bolt in FA but Jennings did instead and the Raiders signed MJD
Have traded away so many of their picks a lot of those are later round picks... One draft within the last 5 years I think they didn't pick until the 4th round!
Certainly not defending the Raiders' draft decisions...
but keep in mind that the Raiders are a toxic organization, with frequent coaching turnover, constant roster turnover and little or no veteran leadership. They are not likely to get the most out of the guys they bring in, regardless of the underlying talent.
He was gonna be a perennial Pro-Bowler, a HOFer. He couldn't miss. Those guys were convinced that Kerry Collins should be the Giants' QB -- as long as he had Gallery protecting his blind side.
How bad theyve been for sure. But I dont theres ever been a team that has drafted as poorly with consecutive picks as the Browns did from 1999-2007 +2012. I mean during that period, they blew like 6 top 7 picks or something. I couldnt imagine having to go through that.
the new-age Browns have blown a ton of very high picks, and many in the big $ era too so were double whammies...they suck at picking QB's, have had guys with character troubles (or maybe just hated cleveland), were so-so on D players and actually pretty fair at OL in recent times. There;s a long stretch of absolute top 10 failure from Couch to Courtney Brown & Gerrard Warren at DL, W Green at RB and Jeff Faine at C (who was decent, which is ok for a 1st rd C i guess). B Edwards and K Winslow started the locker room/off field BS, but they snuck in a very good OT in Thomas and C in Mack over the next few years, and Joe Haden is a great CB. Whoever ran those drafts, they probably should have kept lol...though I guess Brady Quinn was mixed in there so that could cost a job.
RE: Some guys on BBI wanted Robert Gallery soooo badly.

Remember that amidst the clamor for Lewan.
No such thing as a "can't miss" prospect.
Correct. I don't remember anyone on BBI who doubted Gallery would be a solid or great LT. They simply wanted someone else.
JaMarcus Russell has to be the worst draft pick in modern NFL history
It hits all three major categories:
- The cost of the contract was crippling to the Raiders cap
- The damage in years lost from a spectacular QB bust
- Selecting a vastly inferior player when a generational, first ballot HOF talent goes right afterward

But then again, I bet a lot of teams look bad that year taking who they took over Aaron Rodgers. Especially the 9'ers.
But then again, if they drafted any of these guys then their record would likely be better and they couldn't draft the others.
The Jamarcus Russell pick in the high priced 1st round pick era really set them back.
You almost have to wonder if its the culture not the talent/player.

All ND for first 3 picks would be great. 1) Martin 2) Niklas 3) Tuitt
