So says "The Fooball Scientist" While I don't put too much crediblity in the source, the reasoning seems sound.
Bullet points since this is an insider article:
- Team suffered the most injuries statictically in 2013, Odd's are we will be closer to the middle of the pack in injuries next year.
- Eli's interceptions will come down. Seems obvious by default he will play better. I'm not as concern as others about Eli.
- O-line upgrades in free agency, coupled with the Tackle/Center prospects in the draft.
-Upgrade at depth and talent in the secondary that was statistically highly rated last year.
-Upgrade at Running Back. Although depth is still lacking there.
I'm not going to lie, I like the moves we made in the offseason so far. Playoffs or bust next year, I can't act like it's not a failure when we don't make the postseason tournament.

The gap between guys like Geoff Schwartz and JD Walton, and the musical chairs of crap that they trotted out last season is humongous.
Assuming McAdoo knows what he's doing, if they can find a WR and a Tight End I think they are definitely a playoff team, injuries aside.
Still some other weak spots to sure up along the DL and some depth at spots, but they could definitely make the playoffs last year.
a lack of depth (due to a bad cap situation and some weak drafts)
Biggest concern here. Totally hit the nail on the head, Phil. On paper, the giants have added a lot of "experienced young depth" however, they need to all be on the same page. they need to really play together in order for this to work. There are many ney faces especially on defense, where multiple new starters will have to not only learn the play book, but learn the players around them. On that note, the offense is new for everyone. They could really good or probably start off slow and come together mid year.

it might take a while for them to get on the same page.
The key to that statement is "experienced young veterans". The learning curve & jelling might take less time.

My friend always joked, maybe in bad taste, but what's with this guy Jerry he has so many kids he has to resort to putting up gumball machines everywhere? Hasn't he heard of contraception?
I'm actually just young enough to not remember the tele-thon days. My old handle was GMen92 back in college....I must have forgotten my password at some point and my college email expired. I visit BBI mostly for the offseason/draft. Many differnt opinions here and lots of passion.
