Marqise Lee?

Ray_Ray (NYG) : 4/15/2014 1:05 pm
Would you have a problem picking Lee at 12?
Yes

A big reach, but it wouldn't shock me if they're hellbent on a playmaker at #12.
I heard that he had a large number of drops
Jan in DC : 4/15/2014 1:09 pm : link
last year. And his best college year was his sophomore year, before he got injured. If you pick him that high, you're gambling that he returns to that sophomore year form.
Yes

i'd love him at 43 but that isn't happening. At 12, just can't wrap my head around him being anywhere near BPA, or enough upside to warrant the reach.

I have no doubts he will be productive if healthy, but we need a game changer at 12.

I'm a big fan of Lee but 12 is too high to take him. He will also be gone by 43, so.. tough to envision him ending up here.
I can see him landing in the Patriots lap
UConn4523 : 4/15/2014 1:32 pm : link
but I think Carolina would be pressed to take him at 28 given their WR woes and wasting Cam's talent. I don't think he makes it past Seattle at 32 though. Not sure if Carroll had a hand in his recruitment (I think there was a year gap), but that team needs a WR as well.
He gets my vote for the most overrated
PeterS : 4/15/2014 1:37 pm : link
player in the draft.
too high
PaulN : 4/15/2014 1:59 pm : link
I think you could drop down to 20 and easily still have him there. That could add another 2nd, or a 3rd and 4th, if that were the player you wanted, but I can not see the Giants moving down, they never do that, and they will not start doing it now.
Overrrated

Based on what?
if Donald is gone I'd love it
GmenDynasty : 4/15/2014 2:03 pm : link
GUY had 191 catches his FIRST two years at a major college program. Elite production as a frosh/soph is usually a great indicator of special talent. He is one of the smoothest looking WRs in this draft. Bigtime game speed vs timed speed.

He's probably underrated. Not overrated. Still wouldn't take him at 12, but.. yeah. Not seeing where the overrated tag is coming from.
I will say this, going into the 2013 college

Season, he was thought to be a top 5 pick, and there was more hype for Lee than Sammy Watkins. He's going to be one of those players that will compete for rookie of the year, IMO.
Is he a William Joseph like....
Emlen'sGremlins : 4/15/2014 3:28 pm : link
....special talent?
Except for losing Eli, would anything hurt us more than
CT Charlie : 4/15/2014 3:31 pm : link
Pugh getting injured?

Pick an O-lineman, preferably versatile.
If he's healthy and stays healthy Lee will be a very good NFL WR.
BlueLou : 4/15/2014 3:47 pm : link
Maybe even better than that.

If his body frame holds up to NFL punishment he will be close to Watkins. Keep in mind if he came out last year he likely goes top 5-7
I like Lee
RAIN : 4/15/2014 4:32 pm : link
I don't like him at #12 because of the smallish frame and trouble he has staying healthy.

Beckham Jr. on the other hand. That's my guy if we stay at 12 or trade down slightly.
Ugh. I'd be disappointed.
yatqb : 4/15/2014 4:49 pm : link
But I really trust Reese with 1st round picks, so I'd have to reevaluate my position if that took place.

Again he's a top 5-7 pick coming out last year. So unless his body type won't hold up , he's great value at 12 depending on if Donald is gone and/or one of the top blue-chippers like Matthews falls.
not sure why everyone keeps
UConn4523 : 4/15/2014 5:24 pm : link
preaching the top 5-7 thing. His measurables didn't diminish from year to year. He only had a shot at going that high because of the putrid WR class.

When you have ordinary measurables, you aren't going to get taken with a pick that high, or atleast you shouldn't.

He's a late 1st rounder this year, MAYBE mid rounder last year based on lack of WR talent.
I'd personally take
A Aron Balakey : 4/15/2014 6:01 pm : link
Beckham over him and would not be surprised if OB jr is our pick at 12
Lee
stretch234 : 4/15/2014 6:03 pm : link
Amazing a guy who is 6 feet and 1/2 inch and 195 lbs is too small, but a guy who is 6 feet 1 inch and 205 is considered big

What does Lee not do that any other WR coming out do better. Watkins runs a little better, Evans is taller. Lee does everything. Lee goes over the middle more than those 2 combined

Having a knee injury certainly takes him out of being the 12th pick but the guy is going to be a tremendous pro
Watkins only runs a little better?
UConn4523 : 4/15/2014 6:18 pm : link
He's electric. He's a game changer. Evans, even with the LoS reservations is a potential RZ monster. When you are picking 12 you want a game changer. Hakeem Nicks was slightly bigger and had a monster junior year, he went 29.

Lee would be a desperation pick and we'd be passing at better players at 12.
Lee might be the best athlete of the 1st round receivers
ghost718 : 4/15/2014 8:04 pm : link
and people are talking about him going late in the round,I think that makes him underrated.

Watkins is fast and quick, but I don't think he moves as well as this guy.

Beckham Jr is close, reminds me a little of Brandon Tate, also might be one of those talented marshmallow heads.

Lee is going to be the second best receiver of this draft.
