The 3rd installment of LI NHB's 2014 WR draft prospect analysis looks at Donte Moncrief, a young, physically gifted receiver out of Manning-ville, Mississippi. As I mentioned previously, I selected each receiver based on my own personal opinion of who I think are both top quality talents and potential targets for Big Blue. Here we go...

Height: 6'2"
Weight: 221
NFL Combine Results:
40: 4.40
Bench: 13 reps
Vertical: 39.5 inches
3 Cone: 7.02
Analysis:
Played in every Ole Miss games since arriving as a freshman, starting every game except for 1 his sophomore season. Looks the part of a true X receiver with above average height and strong frame to match up against NFL corners. Shows a consistent ability to beat top SEC defenders off the line of scrimmage and stretch the field. Solid hands and truly exceptional leaping ability (T-3 NFL Combine Vertical Leap) to go above defenders to reel-in tough catches. His route running could be improved, though this is suspected for a young draft entry at only 21-year-old. The most important thing is that he appears to gain separation from even the toughest of SEC opponents, posting big statistical performances against some of the best collegiate competition.
I love the idea of giving Eli a little Rebel love to round-out the 2014 receiving corp. I think his combination of size and leaping ability could provide a strong red zone target for the offense and also open up the middle of the field by showing the ability to stretch out defenses. If he were to be available to the Giants at 43, I would consider Moncrief a steal.

We have this saying, "Feed Moncrief", in Oxford. You'd see it on t-shirts and bumper stickers everywhere. Idea being that he was heads and tails above the rest of the talent on the team, so just keep feeding him the ball!
He already looks good in Rebel blue. Would look FANTASTIC in NYG blue.
In this years draft is so deep I expect an starter in round 2
and possibly round 3
Day 3 I'd be all over him. It's hard to use a Premium selection on a player who stills needs to develop; yes I really like him too.

I'd be thrilled with him in the 2nd and even more so in the 3rd. I don't pretend to know how these things will shake out, but I do think he is worthy of a 2nd round selection.
Throw a little Beckham Jr. in the mix and i'm right there with you. Adams is my favorite in the draft outside of the obvious gentleman from Clemson.
Evans
Cooks
Matthews
Adams
Beckham Jr.
Latimer
Robinson
Richardson
Lee
Montcrief isn't bad but I'm hoping we land any of the above before having to draft him.
I think this is absolutely a factor when looking at Moncrief. Like it was posted earlier, he was often drawing a great deal of attention as being one of the only major offensive threats on a lackluster Ole Miss team. Despite his "down year" he still lead the team in receptions, rec. yards and rec. TDs in 2013.
Can you imagine how this place would collapse upon itself if we got something along these lines:
1) Donald/Lewan
2) Yankey/Niklas
3) Moncrief
The one player I would draft before him at 43 is Seferian-Jenkins and I'm still conflicted on which one I can afford to possibly loose. I don't know who our pick at 12 will be but a Jenkins and Moncrief (43/74) not necessarily in that order would make me very Happy.
