Everyone here's a damn expert

Bill in UT : 5:45 pm
At least that's how it sounds if you read all the posts, lol. So who are the guys here who really know what they're talking about as far as players and knowledge of the game, in your opinion? Don't feel embarrassed leaving me off the list :)

There is no room for guys like that...
When it comes to the NFL,
dep026 : 7:42 pm : link
there arent many people here I would consider experts, because we are always more wrong than right.

However...

Sy when it comes to college prospects
Optimus when it comes to the cap
Anish when it comes to offense
Dorgan probably on overall play.

The rest.... meh.
W A/P is one of my favorite posters..

How am I supposed to know who is?

And furthermore, a big reason why I like reading the so-called experts here is to see how often they are wrong.
BBI rules state that..
whoever was here longer is the expert. OR whoever has the most BBI friends.

Be an expert because no one here can watch all the games. For me I watch more Pac12 than anything. Last year I got in an argument about Centers. Schwenke from Cal and Frederickson who went to Wisconsin. I watched him play once against Stanford. I wasn't impressed and felt he was to stiff to be any good. I was put in my place when not only did Frederickson go in the first round but had a good year. We argued about centers and they both are good players and both starters. So unless u can sit down and watch multiple games of all the teams u won't have a complete picture. Saying that, I minus homerism down and go by who watches certain conferences.
Read a couple of draft
PEEJ : 10:18 pm : link
web sites and magazines. Drop a few names like Boylhart and Mayock.

You, too, can be an expert.
like
Big Al : 10:25 pm : link
My old buddy Matt in Syracuse.
.
Danny Kanell : 10:38 pm : link
Optimus for Cap stuff
Matt in SGS for theories into the minds of the ppl in the organization
SY56 for draft stuff
DMM for baseball info
Kmed for fantasy advice
Weatherman for...weather, and red sox banter
Oghwga for home improvement advice

JonC, Brandon Walsh, Anish, W/AP, Phil in LA all are good for consistently solid, relatively unbiased football posts.

I'm not ashamed to say it. I have played it my entire life, coached it, studied it, watched film, written in depth reviews and I honestly feel my years of playing and studying help me to know a lot more than most. Many will disagree and I'm ok with it, I know what I know and I'm confident in my ability to diagnose the X's and O's and evaluate ability. I'm not an expert, but I'm not embarrassed to say I know a hell of a lot about this game, it's been my life blood since I could hold a football.
^^^^
Del Shofner : 11:40 pm : link
yeah, had I responded seriously to this thread, Joey, you'd be in there. Also guys like Semipro Lineman for OL play.

Perfectly put Joey
Kulish29 : 11:43 pm : link
'Expert' is probably the wrong word to use. Well informed and studied on the subject a certain person posts most about is perhaps the best way to phrase it.

When he was in So Cal...it was great to watch the games with him...He knows football.

BigBlueDownTheShore is another....he is youngster....but has a great understanding of the game....

There are so many great BBI'ers....I love reading BBI....I learn something everyday.

When I first joined BBI....I thought I knew a lot about football.

After a year....I understood I knew nothing... And I still don't......

That's why I love coming here......

BBI makes me a better fan.... It makes you understand the game....not just the team.

NJGiantFan84 : 4/17/2014 4:43 pm : link
the ones I really enjoy reading have their biases. I think it's really hard to be a fan of a team and look at things objectively. I notice some with knowledge are overly optimistic and others are waaaay too critical.

So I don't really see anybody as an expert, but there are definitely posters whose opinions I enjoy reading.
Jimmy, you've got me all

wrong. I was being sincere. I still think you da man. I agree with most of what you say. How could you be anything but brilliant?
