"Eli still an elite Quarterback" and 65 percent said NO.
It's sad that he has to take the brunt of all this because Jerry Reese has done such a rotten job as a GM, in free agent acquisitions and worse, draft picks.
After both SBs, the answers were still the same...Most fans are the product of what the media tells them is true..They hear it enough times it becomes fact..
then you are a fool. People watch games just like you. There is no hidden advantage of posting on BBI to decipher Eli's game. The man has a propensity to throw a high volume of interceptions no matter who is in front of him throughout his career except for a few seasons. They compare that to some of his contemporaries. That is what they base their opinion on.
Tom Brady and the Pats. Trey Wingo most of all. Give eli the time brady has and see what happens. Brady makes everyone look better and eli doesn't. Nicks is a number 1 on the giants and a number 3 on the colts, where did steve smith and kevin boss go? When healthy, what did manningham do for San Fran, Tommor got cut after giants couldn't bring him back 2 years after he won a superbowl as a starter, shockey went on a complete decline, plaxs best years were with eli. I mean really though. Everyone besides giants fans hate eli. and when you ask why, then don't give a good reason. they say "he is not payton." Eli had the worst offensive cast around him in his career and half of them were injured throughout the year. Every running back started, i can't even count how many O line combos we saw, and the WRs were not healthy either.
I don't want to sound like the biggest eli supporter, but WOW he isn't a bad QB. Don't get me wrong, he slings the ball around like favre and it can either be an amazing throw or a pick. However, when you constantly get pressured, you internal clock is shorter and you want to try to make things happen and force some throws. I know the right thing to do is take a sack and live for another down, but when you are always getting sacked, you try to make magic happen youself. It also doesn't help that randle ran routes like an idiot. I am sure eli knows the offense better than randle.
Last time I looked, one is out of the league, one is 0-2 in Superbowls vs. Eli, and the other was released from his team after Eli beat him in a playoff game. Who cares what ESPN or their viewers say.
He is coming off an absolutely awful season. Go ahead and blame his OLine if you want, blame Nicks being a pussy if you want, blame the lack of quality TE or RB play, blame a lot of things. All those points are valid and there were a lot of reasons why this offense sucked last year. Eli wasn't the only problem, anyone who thinks that is a fucking moron.
But Eli was absolutely a part of the problem as the most important player on the team. He had an awful year point blank. Even when he did get protection he tended to suck.
I love Eli Manning, I want him to retire a Giant. I consider him one of the clutchest athletes I've ever seen play professional sports. He's a cold blooded mofo and and he has delivered bigtime for us. Eli is the man.
But he's a 33 year old coming off by far the worst season of his career. He already lacks mobility and now he is coming back from ankle surgery. There are a lot of question marks.
The word Elite is stupid as fuck and I'm done with it. But Eli was one of the worst starting QBs in football last year and needed surgery this off-season. I really hope he bounces back and I think he will because that's just what he does, but there are a lot of question marks.
one of the most criticized and scrutinized great players anyone has ever seen. NY athlete who's won two championships by the time he hit 30 years old, and won the MVP in both games. Yet literally every commentary and article aims to downplay his career and accomplishments. You have an athlete who is as good a guy and as representative an athlete as there is in all sports, in any era, and yet out of ten articles or reports about the guy, 8 of them are intended to focus on any and all flaws and shortcomings.
Its truly a fascinating thing to watch. And if you're an Eli fan and supporter (like any real Giants fan should be), it should make you realize that nearly every reporter and most fans are truly inept and ignorant when it comes to understanding who they should focus their criticisms towards. There are athletes out there who are some of the worst people, sometimes criminals and often lacking rings and MVP awards, and those guys get a fraction of the negative attention that a great athlete and representative of how a pro should act gets on a daily basis.
I'm willing to say this pretty confidently...
If you are a Giants fan who criticizes Eli Manning, you are an embarrassment and ignorant about anything that is important when it comes to pro sports. I'm not talking about criticizing a throw or a game or a handful of games...I'm talking about the man's career, his ability, his accomplishments, his place in this franchise's history and his place among all QB's in the history of the league. He's not his brother. He's not a top ten QB of all time. He just happens to be an exemplary pro athlete who plays in the toughest place to play and has already brought home 2 MVP trophies from the biggest stage to pair with his two massive rings that are in many ways due to his achievements when the pressure was highest.
It's tiresome to have to even read Subject lines on the main page that criticize the guy. If you are a Giants fan, wake the F up. If you are a fan of another team, it must suck to not have the guy as your QB because he's likely more accomplished than yours.
98% of American says no.
That offer is not elite.
He then returned to his home to count his millions of dollars and shine his two Superbowl MVP trophies.

Amen, Brother Well said!!!!!
A lot of people dislike Eli. That's all that poll reflects.
change it to:
"Was Eli ever an elite Quarterback?" - 65 percent would still say NO.
