Pretty much guarantees
Phil from WNY : 4/17/2014 11:52 am : link
that it won't be Ebron.
Ebron is almost a remote thrower to me
Lionhart28 : 4/17/2014 11:52 am : link
A diva TE that doesn't block at 12th overall. I'm sure I would convince myself that he's going to be great after a week, but man would it piss me off.
I think people need to know the difference between
Blue Blood : 4/17/2014 11:54 am : link
1) Doesnt Block

2) Wasnt asked to Block

3) Inconsistent Blocking

Every report I have read says things like he is a willing blocker that needs work..
Most college TEs do need to work on blocking
Lionhart28 : 4/17/2014 11:57 am : link
but then again, most don't get taken in the top 15.
I'd pick Martin
JonC : 4/17/2014 11:58 am : link
and the C at #43 if no WR suits their needs.
Of greater interest than a Kiper mock draft
mfsd : 4/17/2014 11:59 am : link
what grade did Kiper give himself for his mock draft?
Xavier
Amtoft : 4/17/2014 12:01 pm : link
in the 2nd? Sign me up and I would even take Ebron to get that.
I would be ecstatic
Big Rick in FL : 4/17/2014 12:03 pm : link
With those two picks.

Also to the people calling Ebron a diva. What is the reasoning for it? I heard nothing about it during the season. Have only started reading about it lately which I can't believe anything coming out right now. Teams put out so much misinformation.
Thank you, Mel
lugnut : 4/17/2014 12:04 pm : link
for ensuring we don't take Ebron or Su'a Filo!
I'd
AcidTest : 4/17/2014 12:07 pm : link
be stunned if Xavier lasts until 43. Don't want Ebron, but he's not a remote thrower. The guy who really scares me is Hageman. Jerry could become entranced with his potential, and overlook all his inconsistency and emotional baggage. He is the classic "boom or bust" prospect we need to stop drafting, at least until late on day three. Hageman is Marvin Austin, the sequel. We can't take a chance the sequel is as bad as the original.
We drafted some guy named Shockey with the same MO
steve in 'skins territory : 4/17/2014 12:10 pm : link
and, IIRC, he blocked well when he wanted to.

He doesn't catch either. But he sure looks pretty running around out there.

I seem to recall him being right with Derek Brown too.
Ebron would result in a large number of TV's damaged
geelabee : 4/17/2014 12:26 pm : link
Definitely a remote throwing.!!

don't want a small 245 LB TE that doesn't block and is useless in the run game @12....If the Giants feel they need an offensive weapon trade up for Mike Evans or sit back and take either:

1 a) A Donald
1 b) T Lewan or Z Martin
I can't wait
Phil from WNY : 4/17/2014 12:28 pm : link
for the Giants to take Zack Martin and then have the Hair give them a C- because they could have picked up both Ebron and Zack Martin's clone in the sixth.
If they take Donald @ 12
geelabee : 4/17/2014 12:28 pm : link
They can target Bitonio or Kouandijo in the 2nd round for those that think we need to go OL early...with both rated slightly less then T Lewan or Z Martin
if that's the case
UConn4523 : 4/17/2014 12:30 pm : link
i'd like Donald or Martin.
I'm not sure the Giants will take Martin
BigBlueShock : 4/17/2014 12:42 pm : link
I wish they would, or at least, him or Lewan, but I think BBI has raised Martins draft stock more than it is in reality. He'll prolly go late teens, not 12. Of course, what the hell do I know
Kiper is the Tom Quinn of Draft talk.

Would love that.

I thnk Ebron is the only near blue chipper the Giants have a shot at. Watch the film, the kid can block.

I agree Jim. He's no mauler, but I've seen him block plenty on tape and in many instances I've seen him do a decent job. He may not like to block, but that doesn't mean he can't or won't.

Kiper is a moron!
chiefmps : 4/17/2014 4:05 pm : link
I hoping that there is no way that the Giants will pass up on drafting Aaron Donald in the first round, Donald is a no brainer. As for the second round, I can see the Giants drafting the best TE on the board. I know that many don't agree with me, but I feel that drafting C.J. Fiedorowicz in round two is a good move for the Giants. Jenkins and Niklas both have injuries concerns, Jenkins don't fit the Giants schemes. Amaro has maturity and attitude questions and is one dimensional receiving tight end. Don't hope and wait for Fiedorowicz in the third round because he will be gone by then.

You don't want a small TE, but your top choice is a small DT? Makes sense.
I'd take Martin in the first
Phil in LA : 4/17/2014 4:32 pm : link
and either one of the WR's, Tuitt or Easley or Bitonio or Cyrus in the second.

Martin not high enough value compared to Donald or Marqise Lee.

Easley with that injury history at 43 with all the other talent that would be sitting there?? No way.

Jay on the Island : 4/17/2014 4:39 pm : link
You think 12 is high for Martin but not for Lee? I like Lee a lot but every mock is have seen has Martin going before Lee.
Bullshit
Phil in LA : 4/17/2014 4:42 pm : link
Martin is a perfect Giant fit, and if they don't fix the OL it doesn't matter what they do at WR. And I like Donald, but fixing the OL is job one and fixing the pass rush is job 2.
Here's another mock....
Wonderphil11 : 4/17/2014 4:44 pm : link
this one would really divide BBI....Cowgirls trade up to 10 for Donald and the Giants stay put and pick Lewan.

Good! Lewan can knock Donald on his ass. Don't give a shit where Donald goes. If the Giants take Donald then fine, but it is not going to help Eli in the red zone or start up the run game or give Eli more time to pass.

But it's much harder to get the 15-30 picks than the 1-15 picks right
Ebron isnt a diva
BillyBoy8384 : 4/17/2014 5:28 pm : link
Nowhere close. He is willing to take his blocking to another level and can catch and run better then most starting TE's now.

I just think with the Giants bringing in Kevin Williams and bringing back Patterson, they will be fine going into the season at DT IF Williams is signed. Take away Donald. I dont see him as 12th pick anyway. I dont get the hype. Most mocks have him in the second half of the first Rd.

We need a WR and a TE. Those are a must.

Could it be that Pass Catching is more important in west coast offense than in our old offense ?

Just a thought since its predicated on getting the ball out quickly. . .
oops

I don't know from what i am hearing its either Ebron from a pass TE perspective is a pretty damn infrequent appearance... that said, i have also heard is overrated even in pass catching ...

Its hard to really see through all the noise myself.
If he has us taking a TE
Boatie Warrant : 4/17/2014 8:40 pm : link
Then we are definitely taking a LBer. He has only been predicting LBers for us 12 years now....LOL
