some Derrick Williams/Michael Beasley to his game which scares me a bit. He's a forward tweener who is weak on D. That's why I still like Wiggins better. But I think Parker has the potential to be a bigger Paul Pierce if everything goes right and he puts in work on D.
The landscape in college will be completely different next year. Other than Cauley-Stein, who kinda sucks, has there been any other players that were on the fence, returning? It seems everybody is leaving. Including Jeremy Grant, who is making a mistake, IMO. He's nowhere near ready and could only improve his draft stock by staying another year at Cuse. He's a mid 1st rounder at this point, not a lottery pick.
Anyone who gets a top 20 projection in my opinion should leave. Lower then that and you risk falling out of the first round and no guaranteed contract.
Grant probably isn't ready but I'll never say a guy made a wrong decision when he's a lock to get picked in the first round
for Syracuse though. Boeheim always seems to piece things together but they are going to need a lot of things to break their way to have a good team next year.
Harrell returned to school for Louisville, and they are joining ACC next year
and Coleman are going to be the keys for Syracuse next year. Those 2 and the freshman coming in. They are once again not going to be very deep. I think they can be top 25 caliber but not much more then that
has a very good class coming in but it's overhyped imo. This class on the whole is no where near what 2013 was. Okafor in 2013 would not crack the top 5.
They are going to be very young again and K has not done well recently with young teams like this. They didn't win a single game in the tournament in Parkers or Austin Rivers senior years.
I also have no idea why a big man like Okafor would ever want to go to Duke when they always play from the outside in and rarely ever feature their big men
RE: Parker was the best player coming out of high school since LeBron Â
He's going to be a superstar. Just wish he stayed one more year and gave us a shot at him.
Kevin Durant says hi, but Parker was a big prospect
Oh contrare..

Last season the 6'9", 220-pound junior led Simeon to a 33--1 record and a third straight Class 4A state championship. In April he was chosen the Gatorade National Player of the Year, becoming only the fourth nonsenior to win the award (after James, Greg Oden and Brandon Knight). Three months earlier USA Basketball had named Jabari its male athlete of the year for 2011, succeeding 2010 winner Kevin Durant, an NBA All-Star. Jabari got that nod after leading the U.S. to the gold medal and being named MVP of the FIBA Americas U16 championship in Cancún, Mexico, last summer.
Jabari handles the ball like a point guard and has a crossover that makes defenders stumble. His first step has been compared to Oscar Robertson's. He can drain threes, yet he goes to the rim with power and uses his 6'11½" wingspan to block shots and snatch rebounds. (Last season he averaged 19 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 blocks.) One NBA executive told SI that if Jabari were eligible for the draft, he would be a lottery pick in June.
He wasn't considered the best HS prospect since LeBron.
There's a difference. Wiggins was clearly considered a better HS prospect than Parker.
Oden was the best HS prospect since LeBron. Derrick Rose got a ton of love too. Anthony Davis was a bit of a late bloomer in HS so he didn't have the build up of some of these guys.

Pierce is a good comp, but I don't see the Williams/Beasley comps at all. They were both 4's in college who were too slow to play the 3 in the NBA. Jabari is absolutely a 3, but could play a stretch 4.
I agree that he is woeful on D. That needs to be corrected. I'm still undecided on Jabari or Wiggins, but I'm leaning Jabari.
And not get much playing time next year as he sits on the bench of a lower tier playoff team based on his draft position.
I think his game will suffer as a result.
He should have stayed, worked on his game, gotten stronger and went lottery to play for a team where he would actually play and develop his game even more.
BUT I really don't see him going in the middle of the first round. I predict more like early in the 2nd round and the money won't be very good at all. Unless some team promised him or his father they'd take him in the mid-teens this kid is not a first rounder....especially with all of the recent declarations of underclassmen for the NBA.
Most likely a lottery pick worth multi-millions if he played one more season at Syracuse. As for this coming season, I hope he likes bus rides.

He's probably going to go 3rd in the draft, so the scouts disagree. He's a worthless defensive player
And Syracuse is gonna have a rough go of it next year, no doubt about that.

I dont think KD was even number 1 his class either. Oden was truly a beast in HS. Maybe even better than Lebron.

He's athletic, but for whatever reason he plays no defense. Tough to hide him there

It's a shortsighted move imo.
Big Boom or Bust prospect
He'll get picked high so no question he had to go pro - it will be interesting to see how high his ceiling is
The right team is going to have to take him for him to get a second contract.
Should have stayed because if he has a good year he would easily be top ten next year
Most likely a lottery pick worth multi-millions if he played one more season at Syracuse. As for this coming season, I hope he likes bus rides.
