I am sure after he retires stories will come out about him playing Hurt or had in season procedures.Maybe a lot of his critics will eat crow then.
My impression as well. Wish we knew of those stories better.
Eli makes no excuses, which is one of the reasons' he'll be far more appreciated after he retires than while he's playing. If he was like Favre, letting the whole world know he was hurt, he would be on a mighty high pedestal now.
You can't buy the graciousness and class of an Eli Manning. No wonder those guys in the locker room are so behind him.
I think this year, with the new offense, even with a questionable supporting cast, Eli is going to shine in ways that people didn't think he was capable of. The arrow is pointing up, way up.
I seem to recall some rumors on BBI of him getting treatment for the elbow injury he suffered in the 2005 preseason long after he was supposedly healed.
In 2008, he reportedly got injured against the Browns but the media never ran with it because he didn't miss any practice time.
He had a foot injury in 2009 and played through it, although he did struggle for a stretch.
There were also some people speculating that he took an injury in the 2012 San Fran game as well.
Eli's streak of consecutive starts is pretty darned impressive. Since he's been here, the guy has played through more injuries than anybody gives him credit for and he's never made a peep about it.
and doesn't play the martyr complex like so many out there when he's toughing through an injury.
Piss and moan all you want you unappreciative corksmoking fans, but you will look back on Eli as the best Giants QB in history and then you may perhaps then realize what you had.
he injured his shoulder near halftime of the 2012 giants @ 49ers regular season game
not sure what else gilbride is talking about
Let it be clear that the 49er injury was actually "suggested" previously by posters with actual connections and it's just being piggybacked here to make it look like he has actual info.
I think Riggies is just jealous of junc's connections. Â
How does he bounce back from something no one knew about without the Giants cheating a little? Unless he is talking about thing done during the off seasons.
And you should now know who they are, hate Gillbride and blamed him for everything. Now he is showing some real class and character and sticking up for his QB, instead of trying to take credit for anything, so now they hate him more for showing them what fucking idiots they have been all along. The guy won 2 Superbowls with us and they still never liked him, just come on a game thread and listen to the morons talk. They don't really like Coughlin either, they just know they will get jumped on with him, but they were hoping he was going to get fired this off season. But they now are all great fans of the new offensive coordinator, and when anything goes wrong they will be telling us how Coughlin is too stubborn to put in his offense, and that will be the reason it fails if it does.

durable, but assuming what Gilbride says is true, I wonder if the Giants don't have some concerns about his health going forward. Maybe he won't be like Peyton or Brady and play into his late thirties.
My impression as well. Wish we knew of those stories better.

I just pray for his health.

He'll never recover.

From the shoulder injury Mortensen reported that was supposed to keep him out several games, to the bad foot he played on for what?, most of a season?
I am as critical of E as most anyone here at times, but toughness?
None better.
As for KG, stfu already dude. Get a hobby outside of football, please!
Let's see it this season.
Somehow I remember shoulder injury/Dallas. Maybe he had a minor surgery then???

That was in 2007. He played through it and did alright. :)
