What positions would you draft in the first 4 rounds?

GiantTuff1 : 4/17/2014 5:03 pm
if you were GM, and you had to say how you would spend the first four draft pick to best improve this team, what positions would you target, in no particular order.

Player would be selected based on the BPA within the targeted positions in each round.

Mine are:

WR - would love an explosive skill player to add to our unit
OL - continue shoring up the OL
OL - ditto
TE - getting a TE who can make a difference, we can develop, and keep

Mine are

If the best players in each round go like this... DT, WR, TE, and DE all needs I may not take a OL until the 5th.
Good question

Depending on who's available at 12:
OL
WR
DL
OL
Though, if DL is thin, swap #2 and 3.
Really is a good question, especially with so many needs.
OT DT C TE

I think the Giants are a stud WR away from contending again
baadbill : 4/17/2014 5:29 pm : link
so long as the OL is also attended to ... so, for me, if the gods had everything in perfect alignment, I'd hope for:
1. WR
2-7 OL

I know that sounds crazy - and probably is - but fix the OL and have #1 WR pick, Cruz, Randle, Manningham plus a decent running game - and the Giants are off to the races

But it only happens with the WR and with real competition and depth along the OL
Hmm...
Reb8thVA : 4/17/2014 5:30 pm : link
1.) OT
2.) WR
3.) C
4.) RB/DT
Offense this year
George : 4/17/2014 5:33 pm : link
1 - OL (Zack Martin)
2 - TE (Troy Niklas)
3 - WR (Davante Adams, Jordan Matthews, or Allen Robinson)
4 - OL (Travis Swanson)

Look for starters in the first three rounds, look for quality subs and future starters in rounds 4 and 5, and pray for help after that.

In no particular order, OL, WR, DT and TE.
In order (if possible)

Here's mine.
shabu : 4/17/2014 5:47 pm : link

OL in 1 and 2 or 2 and 3 or 1 and 3.

a WR in 1-3

a TE in 1-4

DE in 2-3
crazy
shabu : 4/17/2014 5:51 pm : link
I think those numbers actually do work and play out together that i posted... LOL
In order
BillyBoy8384 : 4/17/2014 5:51 pm : link
WR
OL
TE
BPA - DL, OL, RB
If value equated with need I'd want a DL, an OL,
yatqb : 4/17/2014 6:03 pm : link
a WR and a TE, with the OL and WR coming in the 1st 3 rounds.
But I'd stick to my board and not reach for those positions.
BPA in no order

That might translate into OL, WR, DL and TE, but CB, RB or LB wouldn't surprise or bother me.
Winning starts up front.
Red Dog : 4/17/2014 6:29 pm : link
OL, TE, and DL should get most or all of the attention.
The best player that FITS your system ...
Manny in CA : 4/17/2014 6:31 pm : link
Not the overall BPA (unless a Prince Amukamara falls on your lap) - that's a once-in-generation fluke.

Having said that …

Wide Receiver, Offensive Guard, Defensive Tackle, Tight End ….

I personally think that this draft is the deepest in a long time (at the expense of not too many future ALL PROs at the top). That's why I'd seriously consider a trade-down to pick up 2 or 3 very solid players instead of a boom-or-bust guy at #12.
In Order 1-4
pa_giant_fan : 4/17/2014 6:39 pm : link
1.OL
2.WR
3.TE

1- DE
2- DE
3 - DE
4 - Backup quarterback or a pass rushing defensive end.

You're welcome,

DT if Donald available..
prdave73 : 4/17/2014 9:58 pm : link
Then OL, TE, WR..
If Donald not available, OL, TE, WR, DT..

With perhaps less emphasis on WR. I can easily imagine double dipping on the OL 1-4, because there looks to be excellent depth and high end quality there this year.
