NFT: Bbi issues

(1) Every ad issue that has been brought to my attention has been resolved. At least the ones with those who have e-mailed me. I have followed up with them to make sure the issue was resolved.

(2) The only time you seem to post on BBI is to slam the site, the posters, and the way this place is run. Why are you here?

As far as I know, anyone with an issue has e-mailed me. When I have started threads asking if there were anymore problems, posters said the problems were fixed.

If there is a new issue, again, e-mail me with the details. Why is that so hard for you? The ad networks can't do anything without me providing the details, including a screen shot. So for you to simply bitch about a problem, it's not going to get resolved. It's that simple.

But there is a certain amount of frustration here.

I've asked people over and over again to:

(1) e-mail me.
(2) provide the details.
(3) provide screen shot.

the results have been that those having issues have told me they got resolved. I have also started threads asking if the problems get resolved.

The OP's message was to slam the site. First of all, the two ad networks I use are mainstream ad networks. They don't run porn ads. In fact, they contact me when posters post pictures that are too risque (i.e., Giant Filthy's latest work) which caused Google to contact me.

Second of all, the OP says we ignore those complaining about ad issues. That simply is not true. Every time I am notified of an ad issue and provided the details, I work to resolve it immediately. The only delay would be the ad networks operation staffs are not around on weekends.

About two minutes ago. Happened after hitting back to corner forum after reading a thread.

it on my iphone as well. I got lucky and caught the redirect website. Eric, I just emailed it in.

really difficult to catch. AND anytime i click anything on BBI on the phone, i get redirected and cannot even get to the email address to send it to you. And since you dont want us to use adblocks, unless I am actually home, it's not happening. And I cant even get it to email myself so I can forward that. And thank you bc0312 for sending it.

Fair enough - you and I had what I would consider a fruitful conversation after an original abrasive comment on my end a few months back -hopefully this thread follows that same course. Have a good weekend.

I used to bitch about how things were at work - why a fixture was so stupidly designed, why a process was so stupid, etc - and a semi higher up told me, instead of bitching, why don't you help fix it?

Moral of the story: Eric asks us time and time again to be part of the solution. He constantly asks us to contact him directly with issues. People seem to find it easier to go public with complaints than to simply go straight to the source.

Sucks. I'm not digging the free time it's giving Me either. I have too much work to do and three weeks left in this semester. I'm still in the same phase as earlier in the week.

starting a thread doesn't do Eric any good-- he's not sitting around checking for problems. He needs to be emailed. His email address hasn't changed any time recently, last I checked.

He needs the necessary documentation to send to the Ad companies, such as a screen shot, the page it happened on, etc. He can't just magically tell what the problem is and neither can the ad companies.

It blows my mind that people can't seem to wrap their heads around this.

To take a screenshot of your iPhone screen at any time, simply press the button at the top and the circular home/back button at the bottom. You wil see the screen flash, and then the screenshot will appear in your camera role

You hold down the power button and the home button at the same time. And giantology as I said. I cannot catch the link on the iPhone it flashes then redirects. Can't get to it with the back button or anything. So emailing about something I cannot give details about is also pointless. Bringing it to his attention here is best I can do. And because of that someone else was able to catch it and email it to him

I always read BBI on my iPhone and just today I started getting redirected to a Dragon game. Both when entering a forum and entering a thread, I've never had it happen before.

For those having the problem on BBI, it might help to take the occasional screen shot before you click on something to try to catch the likely offending ad(s) before it redirects you. Once you are redirected a screen shot will be of little use. You'll have a number of meaningless screen shots to just delete later, but you may also catch the problem in the act. Email what you find please to Eric.

for IOS 7 iPhone users go to Settings/Privacy/Advertising and turn Limit Ad Tracking on

for IOS 6 iPhone users go to Settings/About/Advertising and turn Limit Ad Tracking on

It comes up before BBI in google search. If it were me- is address this but maybe Gary is trying to tinker with SEO back links. Not working exactly right though because it's causing confusion.

I've had the "limit ad tracking" function on for months and I still get redirected to the App Store. it just happened here five seconds ago to some dragon game.

I can appreciate that it's a widespread problem on the web, but it only happens to me when I come to BBI. also, there's no way to capture a screenshot as I get redirected within seconds of coming to the corner forum - before I click on a thread. so even if I could get a screenshot in that two second window, it'd just be a shot of the corner forum.

iPhone, for anyone who doesn't know you can take a picture of your screen by pressing the power button on the top of the phone and the home button at the same time (simple click together, don't need to hold them down for a long time)
