Did anyone just hear a caller talking with mike bout our "rb situation" not one mention of Rashaad Jennings??? Will someone call the show and let Mike know!!!!
solves most of our running back issues. He can't solve the running game because he can't block for himself, but he's a very talented and well rounded RB.
Francessa is an idiot and he's clueless about present day sports. You can tell that he doesn't take the time to watch enough local sports to talk about it daily. He's great if you need to know who the Royals starting CF was in 1982, back when he watched sports all the time.
Today someone called with a question about bball rules. He says, Mike I have a question. In the NBA a player has 10 seconds to take the ball up and get over half court.
Mike says, yea(really 8 seconds, but no biggie).
What happens if the player gets passed halfcourt, calls a TO and then when inbounding, the pass the ball into the backcourt. Before the guy even gets the question out, Mike cuts him off and goes into some rant about college rules and how you can't do that in the NBA. I don't know what the hell that douche was blabbering about, but he said that this guys scenario wasn't even possible in the NBA. Teams call TO's after a basket, not after they bring the ball up. Then said they can't pass it into the backcourt from the front court. The dude is a bonafide idiot.
I don't think most of these guys are familiar with some of the signings. Steve Somers as usual was absolutely clueless when a caller asked last night about the draft direction. I don't get how he keeps his job. Bad jokes and no knowledge.
for the Giants. Let's wait and see. Some of the signings are catch-up for the Giants to help them just enter the field of competitiveness, given the poor play for several years.
None of signings will get this team to the playoffs as there are no difference makers, just roles as in cog-in-wheel. Given our track record with player eval, 50% of them will probably be injured before we start regular season.

No he doesn't. There are very few backs that can mostly solve a running back situation by themselves and Jennings and his one decent season certainly isn't one of them.
He runs hard inside and has the speed to go outside, he catches and blocks well.....plus he has low millage due to being behind 2 pro-bowler in MJD and McFadden.
Solid addition,
Since I got Sirius I have listened to Francesser much
but he is clueless when it comes to talking Giants/Jets (other than Giants= Good, Jets= Bad). His laziness when its comes to the Giants is ridiculous. He doesn't give a shit.
Every once and a while, I will hear someone call Mike about the NFL draft (in March) and he'll always say "It's too early to talk about the draft"

You say that, and it's true, except for this: If these Fas stay healthy, and simply play to the level of the abilities they already have, or we celieve they have, then , sure, this is a playoff team, if Eli cleans up his act.
Remember hwo Coghlin Plays a season. He may change the offense and defense, but i doubt he changes the way he plans a campaign.Be better prepared than the other guy in sept and oct, get a lead in division, try and break even in novembed and early december, and then round into playoff form the last few weeks. he's domne it twice already, he can do it again and frankly he can probably do it with this half assed flawed roster if the majority of the team A) stays healthy and B) does their job as expected.7-9 is only 2 games from 9-7, and with , what was is, 35 missed players starts ( or 39?) you simply have that number drop to 5, like half the rest of the league and I'm sorry guys but there's your 2 wins there. Even if they look like shit getting in. Fact is, once you're in anything can happen, and we know that better tham anyone. We also know an undeafeated team don't mean shit.Whole new season in January once you get in and nothing that came before matters.
The fact is many teams bear little resemblance on Jan 1st to what they did on Sept 1st, and one thing Coughlin knows how to do is plan a campaign.that's why, even though i say we are fundamentally in the midst of what I'm calling a multi year rebuild, this team is still expected, and can be expected, to compete, even as we still have work ahead, even after this draft, even after this year,to get the roster back to a state similar to where it was between 2005-20011.
Beyond that, one thing I'll say about Hillis, as an example of the kind of player we signed, one thing i did notice about him in contrast to the other RBs on the roster, is Hillis came in and went forward with the ball.I have no doubt that as a percentage of plays he had less neg yards than any of the other RBs we had.he was also competent ant blocking and catching out of the backfield. not great, but he could do it . If all these guys stay healthy, or healthy enough, and do what they do we should be OK, with at least something to root for this year., with a meaningful game played on the last day of the regular season. I think it's realistic to hope for that.

We are also close to signing CJ2K, according to sources within the organization.
