Good plunk there Mr. Cabral. Ellsbury better be ready.
Betances may allow a runner Mook. Joe can't let him pitch. C'mon now.
Kelley is getting up...
That said, the sooner we get some of our more talented arms up (Ramirez) the better. I don't trust either lefty we have and I think we will need a solid lefty soon.
How can you prove yourself when you aren't allowed to pitch in a big spot? He either pitches in blowout wins, blowout losses, or games the Yankees are behind. God forbid Joe put him in when the game is within a run or two with a lead
He's pitched 6.1 innings so far and only given up 1 hit, but somehow he's behind David Phelps, Adam Warren, and Cesar Cabral.
Why pitch him two innings in a blowout last night?
It's really odd because Joe has always done a good job with the bullpen, and i know its tough without Robertson, but it just doesn't make any sense why he wont throw Betances into the fire. He's earned a shot between spring training and how he has pitched in limited action so far.
That doesn't make any sense. Claiborne sucked towards the end of last year and no one expected him to be any big part going forward. And the 2nd part makes no sense, too. I have no problem with having Phelps in the bullpen, but there's no reason he should be coming in in a big spot over Betances time and time again.
Phelps: 7.2 IP, 1.304 WHIP
I hope Cash is looking to steal a solid LHP that can work the role they somehow thought Thornton was going to fill. That was the move that bothered me the most. He was left off the Sox playoff roster for a reason and yet we signed him to be our primary LH reliever?

I also hope we don't offload those same kids for some BP help.

They need to GET healthy, two of their best positional prospects in Heathcott and Bird still haven't seen game action and would appear to be at least a week or two away, while Campos and Turley have yet to appear in game action. But the guys who are playing are, with a few exceptions, doing well. The low-A hitters are doing better of late and guys like Lail and Severino are really holding their own.
No reason for them to spend big money on the pen, they have young arms in AAA who are very close and they have enough to work with in the majors once Robertson comes back.
Spending big money on the pen is usually a mistake
Take a look at the lineups the Yankees were running out there last year and then rethink that statement
Holy crap. One rough game and the roaches come out of the word work. Has this clown been anywhere around while they ascended to first place?
I swear some people don't understand why a team can't go 162-0. It's unbelievable.
Holy crap did you even watch a single game last year? Would you rather have Stewart, Nix, Hafner, and Vernon Wells out there everyday??
