What follows is the product of a 4 1/2 hour discussion by 5 veteran Giants fans, the youngest of which is 60 years old and two are rabid alumni of the University of Pittsburgh.
This scheme is as follows: step one we tried to select the first 15 players to be drafted. We realize that there can be variations in this group but we feel that we are close. According to the scheme it makes little difference if variation is employed.
Accordingly the first 15 draftees should be, no fixed order;
Clowney DE
Mack LB
Barr LB
Robinson OT
Mathews OT
Watkins WR
Evans WR
Gilbert CB
Dennard CB
Bortles QB
Carr QB
Ebron TE
Levan OT
Martin OT
Donald DT
We realize that someone might want to substitute; for example Mosley or Mix or Lee but it makes no difference because the exercise is all about Aaron Donald. The process involves the first 15 players drafted of which the Giants have number 12.
If Donald is taken in the first 11 pics then the process takes a different turn. We will proceed here as if he is available at number 12.
Consideration 1: what does JR and the giant hierarchy feel about Aaron Donald? Our group after seeing a large part of seven games is largely convinced that we are looking at the next Warren Sapp. If that is the consensus opinion then we would draft Donald and proceed as follows:
Step 2: in our unbridled enthusiasm over Donald we cannot neglect the offensive line. Assuming that it would be hazardous to put faith in Beatty, we would have to assume that the starting left tackle is not now on our roster; unless it is Pugh.
Therefore looking at position number 43 in the second round we would have to consider to draft as a right tackle one of the following:
A. Richardson of Tennessee
Kouandjio of Alabama
Moses of Virginia
Bitinio of Nevada
James of Tennessee
Terry of North Dakota State
Considering the concern that none of these are individuals can play NFL left tackle we came to the third step; we believe that Pugh played left tackle at Syracuse. In other words could the versatility of Pugh make possible the drafting of Aaron Donald?
Should the drafting of Aaron Donald precede Giants number 12 pick then the first-round pick will go to the offensive line. Either Lewan or Martin.
We really can't do badly either way. We do not think however that there is a defensive lineman in the draft with the possible exception of Clowney, who holds the promise that Donald does. Hence the enthusiasm.
We have spoken our piece so feel free to tear it asunder.
Have a great and healthy draft. Go Giants!

I can't remember a draft where we had basically one big cult followers of the AD fan club. Now on when someone lists you just scan the entire thing and see how many times the guy who shall not be named is mentioned.
even Will Beatty ??
