Five players ready for bigger roles: Offense

ZogZerg : 4/19/2014 12:12 pm
From NLF.com. I thought that it was interesting that 2 of the 5 players are Giants. Randell and Robinson.

Counting on McAdoo to get these young guys to perform.
Five players ready for bigger roles: Offense - ( New Window )
Wow

Love this optimism. Now I'm getting pumped. Maybe our offense won't be as bad as last year after all.
Randle

is certainly deserving of a mention on a list like that. His role will almost certainly increase and he has enough talent to take advantage of the increased volume.

But Robinson is just a shot in the dark. The writer of the article even says that he was advised to take Robinson of the list. But Robinson is a TE with impressive physical tools and McAdoo is a guy who was a TE coach for years in Green Bay. So I guess there is a chance that he could be our Jermichael Finley. But Robinson hasn't proven anything yet so it's hard to say he is a player ready to explode with a bigger role.
Randle scares me

which is too bad, as I really, really liked him as a prospect. He just doesn't win enough battles.

I don't think he is a future #1. Like you said he doesn't win enough battles and lacks that "nasty" quality that made healthy Nicks such a beast. He's a little too finesse and all his route running mistakes left a bad taste in my mouth.

But I think he can be a fine #2 WR. Even though I'd still be willing to draft a WR in the first couple of rounds.
Well,

we better hope he can be a #1, because I don't think any rookie coming in, will be on the same page with Eli right away.....

As for Robinson, the time for excuses is over, he either produces or should be gone....all I can remember of him last year, was him falling down on his own, breaking out of a pass pattern, and Eli almost being intercepted because of it....
I dont trust RR.

I am curious to see if he progresses or at least don't hang Eli out to dry.
Love to see a kid

like Goodin or Hermann win a starting job and have a breakout season.

Could be a fun year especially if we get a in-house lift from someplace unexpected.

Jerrel Jernigan

that's who I see stepping up, not RR
If Randle, Robinson and Jernigan all step up and star

this offense will likely click well this year.

Robinson is very key because of his potential skill set. He could run down the seem untouched against a LB.

Randle will be a solid NFL #2 with moments of looking like a #1 but he won't be a Nicks of say 2011.

Jernigan looks well suited to this new WC offense and I see him doing well this year.

Lets hope our youth shines because if they don't we could be in for another tough year on offense.
Randle

Don't forget last year he was a rookie, right? It usually takes two years for wrs to get good. I want to believe!
If we fix the oline
JoeCabbie : 4/19/2014 4:12 pm : link
They'll all look better.
I iRR will be much better

.
The entire offense had ups and (more) downs last season

Even Cruz wasn't Cruz entirely. I personally feel Randle will be fine and will be a big contributor this season.

Good discussion about Randle in the video I linked.
