Goodell said the change was needed next year because the venue, Radio City Music Hall, will host an Easter show in April.

This is one of the lamest excuses I've heard from anyone about anything in awhile. Last time I checked Easter has been around for quite a few years and it always seemed to get along fairly well with the draft.
We all know its about the money...just come out and say this.
Because I never ever ever have obligations or plans on a Thursday or eve Friday night. No christenings or weddings or engagement parties or stupid birthday parties on a weeknight. Yeah Saturday all day drafts were great but Thursday and Friday night drafts are definitely "safe." I like that. I don't think I ever missed a draft but the older you get, family, etc, the risk increases that some event will wreck your weekend. Now I have no worries.
Goodelli sucks in the eye of the die hard fan but his job is to generate and increase revenue. And the nfl revenue intake has gone up up up under his watch. Moving the draft to a 3 day prime time event helps the nfl earn more money. Some might say he's killing the golden goose with his methods but I don't think the change in draft time is one of them.
MLB dared stand up to them and look at the results.
A consistent, steady trickle of draft talk with the occasional bigger story that pushes baseball results further down the page behind the NCAA tournaments and playoffs for NBA and NHL.

Baseball attendance is trending to an all-time high through the first three weeks of the season. You're just wrong.

The irony is that Radio City wasn't available because of a new Rockettes show that Dolan canceled before they ever performed in front of a live crowd!

yeah, that's the reason
It's a good thing.
It falls on Mother's day weekend
I will be missing day 3 which as a hardcore die hard fan I watch intently plus it is the only day long draft day left.
I have a First Holy Communion to go to the same day.
As if every owner didn't approve it.
Wish the draft was still in April though.
yeah Move the draft to Mothers day weekend
brilliant
and yes I understand

and Goodell still sucks.

Mother's Day is Sunday. The draft is over by then.
A classic NFL dumb ass call.
Then you can have a UDFA Explosion Weekend the following Friday/Sat/Sun!!!
Woo Hooo.
Mission Accomplished.
week 1 in May screwing MLB?
Mission Accomplished.
Yeah, no. Just another one of your whacky theories.

Fucking Reese could have got player A instead of player B, and traded down to do so
or
Endless adolation about how all players drafted can be penciled in for Canton.
