Whether he wins the appeal or not, though, one team source added that the Giants are livid at Hill’s continued drug issues and he’s likely “done” with the team, whether he wins his appeal or not.
Just kidding. Now clinton dix might be the pick. who knows. He was such a good player. what a waste. It sucks because we would of had a beast secondary and we could of addressed other needs. now we have to hope browns knee is not going to hurt his game. its april and we are already down a starter.
but can't say I'm surprised. By several accounts, these guys know when they're getting tested, so any guy who can't stop long enough to pass really isn't cut out for the NFL
It's a shame b/c we had a good story not too long ago with David Tyree, who an issue with weed but grew up and put his focus on his career, and turned in a short but pretty memorable stint as a Giant
why let go of one of the three best players we have on defense.
Because unfortunately, it would set an awful precedent.
I'm one of the biggest Hill fans here, this has totally ruined my day.. but you can't keep giving the guy chance after chance if he's not going to take this seriously. I was crossing my fingers every day that this thread would never pop up.. but here it is and it fucking sucks. It's a huge blow to our defense.
I can't BELIEVE this jackass. Our secondary including Will Hill was looking absolutely INCREDIBLE for this upcoming season. The guy is an incredible talent at safety. I can't even believe the Giants SHITTY luck here.
Not surprising, but sucks anyway. I'm going to play optimist and hope that somehow this is a false positive, and it turns out Will just had a couple of poppy bagels that morning.
How much of an impact will the Hill situation have on the draft? Â
Honestly, I don't think it will have much of an impact, at least not on the first day, maybe not even on the first two days. I do think the Giants would like to add a kid with some CB/S versatility depending on how things shake out (my two favorites are Tre Boston and Jaylen Watkins), but the 2015 UFA Safety market is going to be very good, and the Giants just might plan on doing for Safeties next year what they did for CBs this year...shop around.
I think it has a pretty big impact on our draft plans this year. If Hill were to keep his nose clean, he had a very good shot at an extension and a key piece going forward. Now, it's extremely likely that neither 2015 starting S is currently on the roster.
Well, at least this happened before an extension was given. Â
Two of our top three CBs weren't on the roster last year. The Giants chose not to draft a CB in 2013, and instead were very aggressive in the 2014 CB market. All I'm saying is that they could do the same thing for Safeties next year.
Of course, we don't know what the feeling was about Hill internally, so they may have been planning for a situation like this from the get-go.
suppose the kid has a serious drug problem?..Wouldn't that be addictive?
Suppose the Giants created a support and rehabilitation system for him, paid for it, put him through the process (which they did), and Hill continued to make the choice to smoke and get caught.
I think they've put forth their best effort to 'fix' him with love and care.

People don't view pot (I'm making an assumption about the drug of choice given his history) as an addictive substance and he's been given multiple chances, so the perception is that he doesn't care enough and is unwilling to put in the necessary work.
But let's just hope he took the wrong pre workout supplement, or some ish. Hopefully he's not that dumb to smoke weed.
Wouldn't matter, 3rd year of a failed drug test is still 3rd year of a failed drug test. Most players in the NFL don't have this issue of constantly failing these tests.
All that money and he can't even manage to pay child support? Â

LOL
He wouldn't pass a Mickey D's drug screening either. And even if he did, he'd Munchie all the products.
think you mean "had" not has.

He was going to pay his child support, but then he got high.
He'll be the most elite part-time NFL player ever.
That's what's going to happen if this plays out. This time he'll miss 6 games. Next time it's a full year.

benefit of the doubt? We're assuming it's weed, but we'll have to wait on that. Perhaps he wins his appeal..
Well, he was suspended for Adderall once before too. Either way, it's not good.
we actually don't know what he is suspended for.
Hill (agent) said it was adderall but the NFL is not allowed to disclose that info
