The Oakland Tribune reports the Raiders are higher on Michigan OT Taylor Lewan than Texas A& M OT Jake Matthews and Auburn OT Greg Robinson.
Lewan is widely considered the third-best tackle in this year's class behind both Robinson and Matthews, but he's still a top-notch prospect and likely would have been the No. 1 pick last year. ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. described Lewan as a "nasty street fighter" and thinks he could go as high as No. 2 overall to the Rams. The Raiders sit in the No. 5 slot and are far from set at the tackle spots. |
Really hope this starts a bit of a slide for Matthews to a spot where its affordable for Reese to grab up and snag. I strongly feel Matthews given his obvious pedigree and being a supreme tactician will truly be a stabilizing force on any team's tackle side for a solid decade.

Matthews is a guy I would trade up for if he falls out of the top 7 or 8. That

I don't want to trade up for anybody, but doing so if Matthews fell to 7 or 8 would admittedly be tempting. I would in fact rather trade down into the mid 20s and take Moses. He played LT last year. CK might still be available as well.
In any event, I still see Robinson going before Matthews.

Taking Lewan over Robinson and Matthews would just continue that fine tradition.
Those Bastards!!!!!
Lewan is a guy I really don't want for character reasons, but putting those aside the tape just doesn't match the physical gifts. I hope a team like the Raiders or someone else ahead of us falls in love, hopefully getting Matthews or Robinson into realistic trade-up range.
Smoke? It's the Raiders. They might draft Colvin

trust any article posted now. Way too close to the draft to take this stuff seriously.

I am talking in general. Just like another bullshit report that sources close to the Texans are pushing for Mack over Clowney. Stuff like that. Another one was the rumor or whatever the Lions might want to trade up. Hence, right now, regardless of what team, I don't take any of these reports seriously.
A. Smoke and Mirrors
B. Where there's smoke, there's fire.
I'm so confused, I hate this time of year! Who am I to believe?
If he's there, I think they will do that. I just don't believe the hype that the qb's are falling. I think at least 2 will go in the first 8 picks - maybe 3.
1 – Greg Robinson – Auburn – 6’5/332: 84
2 – Jake Matthews – Texas A& M – 6’6/308: 83
3 – Taylor Lewan – Michigan – 6’7/309: 82
4 – Zach Martin – Notre Dame – 6’4/308: 81
5 – Joel Bitonio – Nevada – 6’4/302: 80
Do the Giants feel Bitonio lasts until round 2 so they pull the trigger on BPA at 12? Maybe.
Manziel at 16 makes a whole lot of sense for the 'Boys..Publicity-wise this would be right up Jone's Splooge alley
I don't think DT Donaldson will be there at 12 anymore.

Smoke screen. I knew I should have went with the smoke with the actually words smoke screen on it.
This, after targeting him and driving up the price, although the Jets remedied the situation quite nicely and saved a bundle in the process.
Now if Howard is a Guard, having an interest in an OT is not that far-fetched.
I totally agree...actually the only player I would want to trade up for if he falls a bit outside of maybe Watkins.
