Columbus somehow came back from a 3-0 deficit vs. the Pens to tie it at 3. Our old friend Dubinsky got the tying goal. That crowd in Columbus is off the chain loud
MAF was the 1st overall pick in the heralded 2003 draft class in which is seems everyone other than Jessiman from the 1st round made a significant NHL impact. Can you imagine if the Pens settled for average goaltending elsewhere and drafter Getzlaf or Parise or Suter or Vanek or Staal?
I'd feel bad for Cindy... but i dont feel sorry for that whiny, diving cuntrag.
Cue beachball gif on that OT goal. That was a Kevin Weekes special right there. I heard the 3rd goal he gave up (the tieing goal) was a joke too.
The 3rd goal was hilarious, a simple dump in with 22 to go and he whiffed on trying to handle the puck behind the net, Columbus grabs it, blindly backhands it in front, goes off of a penguins defender right to Dubi and he puts it in empty net

Had Pittsburgh have picked Staal, Getzlaf or Perry they never would have sucked so much in 2004 and probably would not have gotten Malkin let alone Crosby, so that is ironically how the pick did work.
This is recent and entirely mental - still a very good regular season goalie. I guess that Flyers series just really fucked him up.
no, he's an awful goalie. He did this all season long, people who watch the Oens regularly see him mishandle the puck constantly. This is MAF, the Pens talent in the regular season gets them by.
but there's no such thing as 'easy' in the stanley cup playoffs anyway, especially in the 2nd round... so hopefully Rangers "East" and Rangers "West" can both win and duke it out for the PATRICK division title in early May.
Would break my heart to see Philly vs CBJ next round knowing we were 'this' close to having a great shot to get back to ECF.
Again -- by no means would i think CBJ would be an easy opponent... but no one is in the playoffs and at least we'd have home ice (maybe not an advantage for this group, but whatever) and would avoid the superpowers (BOS, STL, CHI, SJ, even MTL) for another round.
Pittsburgh's experience and talent up front will probably still get them this series though. Crazy that all 4 games have ended 4-3 with the losing team having at least a 2 goal lead at one point in every game.

I did as did most other Pens fans. This was the only team Pittsburgh could beat in the playoffs.

A few people did. I said CBJ in 7 from the outset. I thought the Jackets were going to give the Pens everything they could handle.
