Pick 26 and pick 35 for pick 12. According to the draft value chart, it's a fair trade. Pick 12 is worth 1,200 points. Picks 26 and 25 are worth 700 and 550 points respectively.
The biggest negative is that you lose BBI favorite Donald, easily the best, most explosive, tackle in the draft. Dropping that far also means you lose any chance at Martin, Ebron, Gilbert, Dennard, Dix, and Pryor.
But one of CK or Moses is likely to still be available, and if not, pick 35 gives you a great chance at getting Bitonio. You also gain a high second round pick, which is especially important given the depth of this draft and the looming suspension of Will Hill. That extra pick provides an enormous amount of flexibility. And even Donald isn't without his questions. He put up 35 reps on the bench, but is still undersized by NFL standards for a DT.
We also have a lot of holes. Football is a violent game. Any one player, however talented, can be out of the year in an instant. We also have a GM whose recent drafts have been shaky. Multiple picks give him a better chance of filling those holes with quality players.
I'd make the trade, but if you don't like this, what would it take for you to trade out of #12 with AD on the board?
THREE draft choices for #12?
Especially if we get their 4th.(Not too expensive for them).
However, waiting for 25 lets another 13 of the very top go by before we pick makes me a little shaky.
Now, if its the 3rd rounder at 67 then ours at 74....I'm thinking hard about it.
(I've never been so sold out on any other draft prospect, ever.)
2 OT Joel Bitonio
2a WR Jordan Matthews
3 LB Telvin Smith
4 S Ed Reynolds
5 DT Caraun Reid
5a TE Marcel Jensen
6 C Gabe Ikard
where do I sign?

Did u really just say Yankey in the first? Ill gurantee he slips to the 3rd round
Accumulating extra picks could be a sound strategy for a team not exactly on the cusp of an NFC title in 2014.
Quality, please.
reese has also shown aggressiveness in the trade market during the draft. He was looking to move up for Revis and DHB and went up for Barden and Nassib. Also had a board-conditional 2nd round pick lined up for Cofield.
I can see going UP for Clowney or an O-Tackle (the price of trading up this year is down).
Or if we want Martin, we could go down, pick up an extra 2nd feeling good about Martin or Bitonio further down.
At #12 the deepest draft in years we are positioned for anything, with tons of holes and few impact players, making it the most interesting draft for the team since 2004 imo (which cooincidentally is the last time a draft was this good). we nailed that draft about as well as we possibly could. need that again.
Agree.
You'll miss out on any of the premier CBs and Donald, if he's still on the board at 12.
Kind of a tossup.
