Enough Talent at WR for a West Coast System?

nyGIANT90 : 4/25/2014 12:44 am
The success of the offense will start and end with the offensive line. I believe this issue has, and will continue, to be addressed.

Rashad Jennings will be the rock they need for every aspect of the offense.

My understanding is that a west coast/packer offense requires receivers that can do it all. Although the new offensive coordinator does seem like a guy to mold his offense to the players talents. Using screens and other plays to get players in space.

As of now they have...

Victor Cruz, Reuben Randle, Jerrel Jernigan, Mario Mannigham, Trendon Holliday.

Hopefully...

* An addition of talented rookies and a veteran will round out the group.

Can Eli make plays with these guys if given time in the pocket?

Accorsi believed in his ability to make those around him better.

Of course a threat at TE always helps as well.

Jerrel Jernigan

He has always had the talent, but last season you saw the confidence and I wouldn't be surprised to see him emerge this year as a reliable weapon for Eli.
I agree.

JJ could be a Cobb like playmaker if given the chance. The light bulb seemed to come on. We'll see.
like JJ too

and I was watching the games the last few days from last playoff run and I'm glad we have MM back as well...hoping like most I imagine that he can still play
We will end up drafting someone, just a matter of when.

Jernigan is far from proven and is entering a contract year. Randle is a UFA after the following season.
I'd like to double dip at WR

and go best available early (i.e. Evans in 1 or best of many like Matthews/Robinson/Lattimer in 2)

then turn around and get Janis in Rd 5 (comp pick)
Must go Evans if available at 12...

My reasoning? If Cruz goes down we are screwed. We need another home run hitter.
I don't think there's any doubt

we could go to a West Coast system. We would need another quality WR, but not necessarily a first round choice.

In fact, I bet Eli would thrive in it. Why? Less time holding the ball (safety), and less chance of a mistake in pattern (or interpretation).
All passing offenses

Require talent at receiver. Nothing has changed. Talent rules in any system .
we need a Pass Catching TE
shabu : 4/25/2014 11:16 am : link
From what friends of mine say that are fans of WC offense teams, we need a tight end that is a pass catching threat.

I think that is our biggest hole atm.
would Amaro

in Rd 2 suffice?
I agree with those who say the TE question right now

Is a bigger issue than WR, for a WCO. Brent Jones was far more important to the Niners than most now recognize.

I think DR will thrive on this system

His problem was making the read on the read in the option route system we ran. With precise routes he should thrive. We should add another receiver to the mix but not necessarily in the first. Personally I want Ebron I think open allot up for Cruz and company Evans I don't think will be there at12
