of Nicks a little bit, actually, but looks to have better straight line speed. definitely an intriguing prospect. some of the plays he made in that video are incredible. particularly the catch at 0:45 and the catch and run at 0:50.
but I'd rather have Cooks, who's slightly higher for me. Beckham, Jr. does deserve to be in the top half of the draft to me though. I could see him going to Baltimore.
He is fast, strong, has huge hands, long arms, and speed to burn. He is a very good athlete that is a very good football player. He would contribute right away and impact the game.
He's better than Nicks coming out of college because he is much faster. Same change of direction, same hands, same wingspan.
Ideally we trade down and still have a shot at him, but I wouldn't be upset at #12. He's the Zach Martin of receivers for me. Safe.
He reminds me of a more talented version of Steve Smith (USC -NYG). Has a little bit more of an ability to get downfield.
Supposedly his work ethic is in sane, and some people say he'll be a "pro's pro". #12 just seems high for him.
Odell has the body control to adjust to the ball in the air and make the tough down the field catch. He runs excellent routes and this along with his quickness and strong hands allows him to be open on just about any pass play. He has solid run after the catch skills....
Beckham should step in and star quickly. Rare wide receiver combination of outstanding natural ability and great attitude, natural elusiveness and still willing to get physical.
Beckham is faster in a straight line, but Hilliard had amazing quickness in and out of his breaks coming out of Florida. And great hands, too. His Sugar Bowl was off the charts, something like 3 TD's and a 150+ yards receiving.
If Donald, Martin, or Cooks, is on the board and then we made the O. B. selection that would make me very sad turn off the TV. Yes tears would be forming in my eyes.
If you're looking for a legitimate NFL comparison for Beckham, look no further than former Western Michigan star Greg Jennings (Packers, Vikings). Like Jennings, Beckham runs in the mid-4.4 range and possesses strong run after the catch skill. Most similar is the strength that each displays to catch the ball away from their frame. Their rare ability to bend and sink at the top of cuts may be best exemplified by their times in the 3-cone drill (6.69), which was exactly the same. Odell needs to get stronger to defeat press coverage and eliminate the alarming tendency to leave catchable downfield passes on the ground. He has second-round value in this year's draft.

Weird he reminds me more of Cruz and Landry reminds me of Nicks.
Frank Coyle rates Beckham as the 9th best player in the draft.
If it must be O then OL rather than a shiny downfield toy. And why do I get the feeling that for at least the first 4 rnds the top rated player on the Giants board will be on D.
My hopes have been around DT Donald followed by LT Lewan or LT Martin if they think he can play LT @ the NFL level.
I would trade down with someone if they call and I think we could still get a quality player that may be higher on our draft board then another teams. Of course this is all conjecture on my part but this is a high quality draft.
I mean, imagine we could trade our #1 and #5 for a team's #1, #2 and #7? Just a few spots down? I'd love Beckham at say #20 and some OL help with both picks in round 2. We'd still get quality.
Ah, I can't wait til we actually make a pick on draft day!

Look liked Ruben Randles LSU highlights.
As TC has said, we know Rueben has the ability. He's a good bit bigger than Beckham too, and while less explosive has excellent "long" speed. Once he get's moving he's deceptively fast and runs by a lot of DBs.
Not to take anything away from Beckham, but we already have a WR who should be a #1 X.
I start to go nuts. Draft him! Sign him! He's the real deal! Just what we need! Can't wait for the draft! "In the twelth round the New York Giants select Odell Beckham, Wide Receiver LSU." Gotta get a grip. Still like Ebron.
One thing with Randle I do not see is explosive play
For those who really like Beckham, what games did you see?
I only saw him in the TAMU and Alabama games and he really wasn't that impressive in either. I just don't see anything special with him but I figure I need to see more.
I also thought Landry was the better receiver in each of those games.

Don't get cute, NYG.

He does remind me of Ike, but he's faster than Ike was.

Just a thought.

He may be Desean Jacksons replacement in Philly though, which would suck.
