2007:
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (9-7)
Dallas Cowboys (13-3)
Green Bay Packers (14-3)
New England Patriots (18-0)
2011:
Atlanta Falcons (10-6)
Green Bay Packers (15-1)
San Francisco 49ers (14-3)
New England Patriots (15-3)
Imagine having most of those records and losing to the "lowly" Giants?
Plus, the Giants did not just win that game, they rolled the Packers.
Also, in the playoffs, Lambeau is Eli's house.
It is impressive when you lay it out in that format.
I agree there, for me that game was a throwback, just the level of physical intensity in the hitting, especially by Jacobs and Bradshaw on the Packers D, it felt like it belonged with the 1990 NFC title game.
Best game: 2007 Super Bowl or 2011 San Fran
Most satisfying win: 2011 Green Bay or 2007 Dallas
Life altering and truly satisfying
I still get chills thinking about those two runs!
Woooo Hooooo! For the rest of our lives
That's still a tough one for me to watch, even knowing the outcome! The fumble on the punt return, the McQuarters fumble after the INT, the poor play/angle that lead to the 80 yard TD "pass", the TWO missed FG's....Yikes.
I don't know how I avoided a heart attack watching that game...

that still appeals to me the most in terms nostalgia is actually the -23 game in Green Bay. For some reason, I love that game.

Simple, your heart was frozen
2011 was very much a surprise...every game was scary.
We need some more, pronto!

Ha! Fair point, BB'56....
Of those two runs, the '07 Dallas game was the most satisfying non SB game for me..
A hearty amen, bro
Do you mean 62-7?
That's the modern day equivalent of beating Bill Walsh and Joe Montana in the SB TWICE!
Go Giants!
The defending champion Packers were the first 15-1 team to go one-and-done in the post season...and they even had the refs on their side. That was an impressive win for the Giants.
However, the win in Dallas in the '07 run remains my personal favorite. That win was very satisfying.
In relative terms, it wasn't THAT surprising. They beat us by a FG in our house, and you could tell we were peaking by the time we played them again.
Given the weather conditions, beating Green Bay in the 2007 playoffs was far more impressive. I don't think many people would've predicted that Eli could be that good in that sort of environment.
I also remember losing a lot of respect for some of their players when they didn't give the Giants enough credit for taking it to them.
The Falcons were a pretty run of the mill playoff team and Matt Ryan is simply not that impressive a player.
The Packers record was notable, but Green Bay's defense was horrendous that season, typified in the game by the brutal coverage on the hail mary pass.
And New England, while still "New England", was not even in the same stratosphere as the 07 team and had a D that gave up a ton of yards, too.
2007 trumps 2011 by a mile.
After 2007 we all said a run like that would never happen again. Then 2011 showed up. Awesome time to be a Giants fan.
The 'Boys dominated the first half but with a 14-7 lead and 47 seconds left in the half, they let the Giants tie the game.
I hate it when players who made great plays in those games are practically forgotten, and when remembered it is usually to degrade their skills and congratulate the Giants' getting rid of them. Rookie Steve Smith got that drive started with consecutive catches of 22 yards and 11 yards with a face mask added on.
The Giants offense did nothing in the 2nd half except score a short field touchdown (Dallas 37) with Smith catching two more including an 11 yard catch on 3rd and 6 from the Dallas 20.
Then I think the legend of the Romo choke was born. The Cowboys had the ball three more times after the Giants took the lead. The first was on their own 13 yard line, but the last two began on the Dallas 44 and the Giants 48. Romo just had to lead his team on a short touchdown drive to win the game and knock out the Giants.
As ever since, he couldn't get it done. An intentional grounding penalty helped stop the first drive. The second drive got as far as 1st and 10 on the Giant 22. A four yard completion to Witten and three incomplete passes ended the game.
I don't know why I typed this all out. It just brings a smile to my face. Since then I've never had to take crap from Cowboys' fans.
