The short version ...
-- Their dream pick is Texas A& M WR Mike Evans. Their second choice would be Michigan T Taylor Lewan. They do not think either player will still be there at 12 and have no plans to trade up.
-- They expect their choice to come down to LSU WR Odell Beckham Jr. or Notre Dame OL Zack Martin and I believe Beckum is the player that most of the people in their draft room prefer.
-- They have no interest in North Carolina TE Eric Ebron.
-- There are defensive players they like, but they are expected to go offense in Round 1 unless all their options are gone.
-- I wouldn't completely rule out a trade down, but I don't expect it to happen. They don't seem to love their choices at 12, though, so if the offer is right anything is possible.
-- A big no on the rumor that they're thinking about QB Johnny Manziel.
Remember how many times we've been warned about gamesmanship as we get closer to the draft? Why should we suddenly expect that with mere minutes to go before the draft starts the Giants are letting loose with their true intentions to a reporter, of all people?
ha, same here.
i think most of us expect the exact opposite. if these are the names being leaked to Ralph at this point in the process, then they're most likely a smoke screen.
Martin will be taken if he's available and Lewan is not.
I'd rather have ebron at this point
I hope not. No way I'd take CK at #12. I'd rather take Richardson at #43.
Im watching the NFL Draft Fashion Show right now and Cyrus looked confused at the concept of going to the second row down. It was troubling.
Completely down with Lewan or Martin at 12 so long as the FO doesn't think Lewan is some kinda psycho.
I think Greg Jennings is a good comparison for his upside, but of course he's no sure thing to achieve that and maybe more likely will be a very good number 2 caliber WR. I think you aim higher at 12.
That's what I've been saying and if that's true the guy not being mentioned in the media is Donald. He may well be gone but if he isn't...
He might only be relied on for a shorter career span if that knee becomes chronic/arthritic. That's the issue with his knee.
I think guys like Bitonio/Moses/Kouandjio make sense at 43.
If we can take Martin at 12, I think we go Amaro or perhaps a WR if one is still available (Lee, Matthews?).

Eli tends to miss high with his throws. I kind of doubt we're using a #1 on a sub-6'0 WR. The interest in Evans makes a lot more sense.
He has to change, especially in the kind of offensive changes that McAdoo is likely to integrate.
His size doesn't concern me. The only thing that would disappoint me is that there's enough depth at WR that we could likely get a very solid one at 43.

He does okay throwing to cruz.
Still, what a beast to pair opposite Cruz...pretty sure it just moved...
However, given Eli is our MVP and key player, we may likely take OL Lewan. I think he beats out Beatty who ends up working his way into health and backing up this year.
I love Martin but if Lewan is there you take the huge tackle and don't look back.
Best scenario: someone calls us for Manziel.
yep.
He may not always nail the exact pick right in his mocks or whatnot, but he's almost always on to where the Giants' interests lie and, especially considering all the crap he gets otherwise (much of it deserved at times), he deserves credit for that.
