His game speed looks good because he seems to anticipate very well. He's a hitter. He may be a flyer or he may be a steal. He would not be the first 5th rounder to be a very good football player. I like this pick at round 5.
I watched his film and reminds me a lot of Shamarko Thomas at Syracuse 2 years ago. Similar size and build with good tackling technique and willing to mix it up and always around the ball. Looks like a player and good insurance. I wanted Thomas for the Giants, so am happy with someone who could turn out to be quite similar.
If you're not a track guy, starting to run from that position can be very awkward and cost you valuable tenths of a second. Look at the deeper picture please. Kid had a great broad and vert jump so the problem isn't his quicks or explosion.
